Um, isn't that redundant? Now if it was 'made better by leaving the scoop of ice cream off'. Or just '50 Desserts Made Better.... Sorry, in the middle of a stint editing some papers that really needed it.

Anyone care to critique/edit an article I'm working on?

A rant is only when you're not offering a solution...sent you a conversation thingie. Is that the same as a private message here?

Metal U-Bass Strings On An Ashbory Bass

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I didn't know silver-plated nylon ones would work with a magnetic pickup. They're easier to find than the SC ones, which seem to be out of stock everywhere but Kala itself. I've got the FLPUK2QM, which is the first one but a greenish tan quilted maple. It cost...

Metal U-Bass Strings On An Ashbory Bass

Look what I found today! One of my projects is restringing a Vorsion solid-body uke to a teeny bass. It also is 18 or so inches, and these look like they'd do it: Nickel with Steel Core Solid Body U•BASS® Round Wound 4-String Set - Kala Brand Music Co.™

Metal U-Bass Strings On An Ashbory Bass

I'm curious, as well. How long is your Ashbory and is it tuned standard EADG?

What is your favorite chrome polish?

Fun fact. Simichrome is probably the most reliable way to tell if something is genuine bakelite. Use a swab with a very small amount, and it will turn from pink to yellow if it's bakelite.

    Double Bass Stagg EUB megathread

Thanks for the test! Plugged in a device and headphones...light on, heard device in headphones. Unplugged device -- power still on to headphones (no instrument/amp cable plugged in)!! Then I realized I was using a different set of headphones than when it required the instrument/amp cable also...

    Double Bass Stagg EUB megathread

Thanks for the diagram. Mine is not ON with just the headphones inserted...the input jack has to be plugged as well. (I haven't tried just the input jack and no headphones). But this makes me wonder why the battery is a problem for some people. If nothing is plugged in, the battery doesn't...

Like the video of "On Broadway"! BTW the samoyed (white house) was going to be in a video for a New Brunswick group covering Iggy Pop's "I want to be your dog", but the band fell apart first.

How long do you keep up holiday decorations?

I read the word 'cat' and it took a few seconds to realize you were not, in fact, decorating him or her.

    Ultimate Break Up Song?

"Photograph", Ringo Starr "Makes No Difference", The Band "If You Could See Me Now", Devonsquare and of course entire album. Heart Like a Wheel (Linda Ronstadt)

How long do you keep up holiday decorations?

We stopped putting them up several years ago except for a small strand of purple tinsel garland some years. Then every Dec. 26 or 27, we congratulate ourselves for taking them down so promptly.

    Saturday Night Live 1975

Would have won either way. But wasn't it a $1,000 check, that Lorne Michaels showed the camera and said he'd talked NBC into it and it was their final offer?

I can't resist adding this one, made back in 2008 or so with photoshop. Same dog.

Because strangers are the only ones who haven't seen them yet?

ebay purchase, feel a little misled

I've got a Tiesco EV-2, with the trapezoid/spade-shaped body. While it was literally a giveaway 10 yrs ago, I note that the prices of Tiescos have gone surprisingly higher in the last few years. It's been years since I saw a forum somewhere devoted to them, but much of the discussion reflected...

    Double Bass Stagg EUB megathread

Thanks for all the info -- I have no pretensions to be even mediocre, but it's fun. The main advantage of the cello bow was/is that I already have it, will probably get a bass one at some point. I've got a set of NS traditional medium strings when I get around to putting them on...bought them...

    Double Bass Stagg EUB megathread

I've got an electric cello and several electric violins, and they've all got 'on/off' switches. They all have sockets for line out, headphones and mike. With the endpin retracted all the way the nut is very slightly above my eyes, so if it isn't hurting anything I'll leave it that way. I...

G-Dog could print out some of this thread, starting with the picture of her trove, and figure out how to fold it and that would be a nice Valentine.

    Fender Rumble Club

Yes, I have a Rumble 25 purchased initially for an electric cello in 2015. It's handled bgs and my new Stagg EUB, too. My tiny Sawtooth amp was gotten for the electric violins but does electric mandolins and guitars as well, as does the somewhat larger Kona guitar amp. I sew MUCH MUCH better...

    Double Bass Stagg EUB megathread

Hi, I got a stagg last month and have two fairly dumb questions. First, it's about the same height as me, and I haven't lowered the end pin at all, just left it screwed in. Is that a problem? It doesn't rattle. Second. I've read through most of this thread, including many relating to various...

    Fender Rumble Club

How many sewing machines does she have? (I think I've got more of them than instruments, of which there are 15 plus two drumsets -- only 3 BG and 1 EUB. However, the number of each tend to change when I try to count!)

    Rushhead Bass Max review

By coincidence, I got one of these which arrived yesterday. I was going to buy a Nux plug but Amazon showed the Rushead with good reviews. My logic was I have no idea what I'll like or dislike about a headphone amp yet so this way I'm not spending money I'll decide later should have been more...

    Talkbass Pedal Steel Guitar Club

Can I join? My 1956 Fender 400 was an impulse buy from Guitar Center online about five years ago, got the world's best deal ($450! plus only $17 shipping, which was probably an error), came from the Atlantic City GC. It is boxed up waiting for a long-delayed move, and I don't think it's ever...

Is this amp going to work with bass ?

If it's Georgia the U.S. state, Musician's Friend site has some reeeally inexpensive used bass amps. But did you mean Georgia the country?
