Fender Rumble Club

How many sewing machines does she have? (I think I've got more of them than instruments, of which there are 15 plus two drumsets -- only 3 BG and 1 EUB. However, the number of each tend to change when I try to count!)

Howdy, Gwen. Welcome to TalkBass. :)

Well, now, if ya wanna get technical, she's got just a few actual sewing (only) machines, and at least one serger, but several embroidery machines and a long-arm quilting machine setup to handle up to King Size. I'd be lying if I quoted numbers 'cause I don't really knowb and I may have shorted her count. She wheels & deals 'em like some here on TB do basses. She worked for a Babylock/Brother dealer, and got some great employee discounts on new & used machines, for several years before we all retired. She's worn out, or outgrown several. I just bought her a Disney© Brother embroidery machine for Christmas 'cause her last one wore out.

I'm the musician of the family, except for my 3 grown sons, with a much bigger inventory than any of them. 3 main BEAD basses, and a standard 4, 5 & a VI. About 6 bass amps, only 2 of which are Rumbles. With about 5 acoustic-electric guitars, 5 hollowbody electric guitars, about 7 solidbodies and two nice ukuleles. Approx. 6 guitar amps. Just a couple of closet queen guitars that my boys may not all be totally aware of. All the rest are players that I try to rotate thru active duty, with several hanging on the walls of my music room for easy access.

I've also got custody of an electric drum set, which I keep meaning to hook up and try. But, I know I'm no drummer. The grandkids would get a kick out of it, though. :woot:

How about your bass amp collection, Gwen? Any Rumble(s) to qualify inducting you here into The Club? We've got a few other members of the female persuasion, too. :smug:

For the record I must state that my quilter, being Mrs. Dog, is the singular and foremost object of my highest adoration! She doesn't amplify any musical instrument. But, after 40 years of wedded bliss, this coming February 29th, she's still the one I run to, the one that I belong to. She's still the one I want for life. She's still the one that I love, the only one I dream of. She's still the one I kiss goodnight. We're still having fun and she's still the one.

It's the second time around for both of us. Both had about 10 years, and kids, with others. So we both really do appreciate what we now have; besides each other, the love & respect of our 5 kids, 8 grandkids & 1 great-granddaughter, all of whom we are so very proud of, and a comfortable retirement. And we shall ever more ... ... ...

Mrs. Dog is obviously a quilter.

So is my 88 y/o mother and one of my sisters.

I'll take a handmade quilt over any commercially made blanket.

All of our heavy bed covers are handmade - quilts or crocheted (or knitted) comforters, afghans, etc. I’m under one my wife made me on the couch now.

Dude! You should write a song.

Yes, I have a Rumble 25 purchased initially for an electric cello in 2015. It's handled bgs and my new Stagg EUB, too. My tiny Sawtooth amp was gotten for the electric violins but does electric mandolins and guitars as well, as does the somewhat larger Kona guitar amp.

I sew MUCH MUCH better than I can play anything and the machines were intended to be part of community sewing center. Those Brothers are terrific, but don't want to bore bass folks.

But in the 90s John Paul Jones (and the rest of those zany bandmates) really improved my sewing ... honest, staying in time on the serger was much easier with his help.

What a wonderful tribute to Mrs. Dog, yes the song, maybe you could get TBers to join in like 'we are the world' or the more recent Musicians for Change.

In a complete coincidence, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Don't tell us--tell her! (But I'm sure you always do. :D)

Thanks!

It arrived a day early.
Gotta say. I like it right out of the box. I'm running it through 4 of Trace Elliott 10's.

These settings sound great with the 705 Portamento.
Cheers!

A guitar amp maker! My guitar and bass amps sit next to each other and I only just noticed (cause I looked just now) that their EQ knobs are mirrored. T-M-B B-LM-HM-T
Ha! Maybe? I just checked a Blues Jr and it's T-B-M. Makes no sense to me. I guess I was just raised on graphic EQs. Bass on the left. Treble on the right!

I actually got mine from a seller on Amazon for $699 plus I had over a $100 in points, so I jumped on it. A week later it was back to $749 from the same seller, just a week long sale and I got lucky I looked when I did. But I haven't seen it as low as $637. But I suspect it is still above the sellers cost.
I am a happy camper!

Wow, Supes?! How many of those TE 10s is the BAM200 able to push? It must be a big change to the R800h pushing all 4 of 'em, huh? :woot:

I got a call mid-afternoon asking if I had a portable PA I could bring to a small service tonight. Just for talking and a solo singer. Technically no but “Sure thing!” I took my Mackie mixer, a Shure SM57 (because someone I trusted never returned my 58), my Rumble 100, and cables, stands, etc. I ran an unbalanced main output into the Rumble fx return. Worked like a champ. Thanks, @GonePlaid , for talking about using your Rumble for CDs between sets!

Versatile ain't they?

The BAM can push two. I use the BAM with one for lightweight acoustic shows. I use the BAM with two for louder, but still lightweight shows. And for full on rock shows, I was using the Aguilar AG700 with three. Then, I got a fourth cab on a super deal off Craig's List. So, the Aguilar having the backwards controls and only able to handle 2.7 ohms, I had to upgrade to the Rumble.
