Anyone care to critique/edit an article I'm working on?

I hope this doesn't come off as a rant, but I do a regular gig that is both live and recorded and the folks running the boards don't seem to understand how to mix/blend an ensemble. Every week the recorded mix varies greatly from imbalance, to distortion and all sorts of sonic maladies. I don't think the two guys who run the system (except when on occasion they bring in a professional sound guy) really know what to listen for in a mix/blend, both live and recorded. So I thought I'd sit down and write a guide/tutorial that might help the guys doing the sound in my group and perhaps others. But while I know a bit from 50 years of playing in a lot of genres on bass, guitar, trumpet, and percussion I don't profess to know everything and am not sure I'm clear, polite and accurate- or missing things or have things that need to be stricken.

I worked for a music store a few decades ago and part of my job was to run sound for acts that came through town and played at local theaters. I also did it for several local bands at various venues.

My favorite one was running sound for Lionel Hampton and his orchestra when they played a concert for a local hospital in the hospital parking lot. That was quite a night.

Over the years I came to believe people either have an ear for it or they don't. Sure you can teach someone how to run the board and other equipment (and I did) but the results depend on their ability to understand how to apply those skills to getting a good sound in a variety of venues. In fact the definiton of a "good sound" can be different things to different people.
