    Genzler Kinetix 800 vs MG800

That plan would work out just great. If you got the Kinetix, you could have a dual preamp bass head. Thanks for considering.

Genzler Kinetix 800 NAD! Will post a review and such

I've not experienced this with any of our cabs but my thoughts would be that the floor may have been somewhat hallow allowing for more vibrations, through the bottom of the cab. As for any head vibrations on top of the cab, we do add bracing thr bisects the top panel designed to guard against...

    Genzler Kinetix 800 vs MG800

Thank you @BassAdder27 ---- So glad to hear your initial impressions. It is a very different amp than the Magellan design. Some players are finding that there is a place for both in their gear requirements. I'm sure it is very impressive on your new MG-ULV-212T cab. Stand back!!

    NAD

I'm also going to let others comment but I think HowieD72 has already said that the Kinetix 800 is so much more than what the Streamliner is. Similar only in their preamp basic topology with 3 preamp tubes running at high voltage. As we designed the Streamliner, we already knew what we...

@Super4 ---Thank you for this report and the kind comments. We always appreciate hearing players feedback. So glad this rig is surpassing your expectations. We do appreciate that you rely on our gear.

Yes, this was done by design, to offer additional EQ points when using the Re/Q with our Magellan amps. Using slight EQ adjustments on the amp and more precise adjustments on the pedal. Plus using the pedal as a boost function with EQ to taste added with the boost. Just added versatility.

    Genzler Magellan 800 Contour

I can answer this ----- Left-right 8", center to center; front-back 7.75", center to center. Hope this helps.

    Genzler Amplification Club

Good morning ---- Thanks for the question. Yes, in the DI PRE mode, the signal to the DI is coming right off the first preamp tube input stage (running at 300V) so you are always getting a tube buffered DI signal to the house, even in the DI PRE mode. In the POST mode the entire preamp...

    Genzler Magellan 800 Contour

Yes, I confirm that the info above is correct. Niether Contour is in the signal chain in the CCW (off) position. They make no impact in the tone in that position. These are very musical filters and players have found them to be very useful, and rarely do I hear that players go to the...

If you're concerned about a harsh top end, the Bass Array design is the opposite of that. It's our opinion and that of many users, that the upper mid and top end of these Bass Array cabs, are very smooth, without that tale-tell tweeter harness, as there are not tweeters in the line array...

    Genzler Amplification Club

Yes, the Bass Array design does allow for a much smoother upper mid and top end. As for adding a cab to the BA2-212-3 cab, I would gravitate to the BA2-115-3SLT. I think two double driver cabs of differing speaker size (for me) would not blend as well. But that's just me.

    Genzler Amplification Club

Thanks for the comments. I sent you a PM on the cab availability. Regarding your question of the BA2-115-3SLT under this cab, when Nate did his demo video of the BA2-212-3 he did pair it with the BA2-115-3SLT. His impression was that it did add a little more beef under the 2X12" BUT the...

    Genzler ULV212 cab

We are using LaVoce speakers now. The MG-ULV cabs use the same speakers we use in all of the BASS ARRAY series 2 cabs. We find they have better performance, same power handling and nicer low frequency extension and mid character response -- and they are lighter.

    Genzler ULV212 cab

Thanks for the intitial comments. They are sincerely appreciated. And I've noted the update to your signature pic here as well. Nice!!! Yes, our design parameters between amps and cabs are very similar and meant to let your instrument and personal tone signature come through as uncolored as...

    Genzler ULV212 cab

@BassAdder27 --- Thanks for using our MG-800 and for trying this new cabinet. Let us know how you like the MG-ULV-212T. Are you located in the UK? And about cabinet vibration, I don't think you'll experience this with this cab and your MG-800 does use soft rubber feet, to helf prevent...

Thanks for the question ---- and this discussion always goes to how unique the Bass Array concept is, to get the full extension of the audio spectrum, along with mid clarity and definition WITHOUT tweeters. Those 3" full range drivers do all of that in a very seamless and smooth fashion and...

I can offer something from the design side of things, and yes we did play these 2 cabs side-by-side during development of the MG-ULV cabs. The MG-112T-V cab is certainly larger and thus would offer a little more bigness in the very bottom-end, just the clear difference in physics. BUT we felt a...

Thanks for the interest in our gear. With this added information I would also recommend the Kinetix 800. I think the high voltage tube preamp and the dynamics and dimension it provides would bring out the full clarity and nature of your Alembics. And if you'd care to discuss cabs that is a...

Great Bob, glad the cover arrived in time. That sounds like a great set up for this gig. Please take pics, but if I can request if you could add a nice juicy plate of ribs on top, your tone will be extra tasty. 😀

    New Genzler Rig!

A couple thoughts, the BA2-112-3 is a larger 12" cabine so there will be "more" bigness in the low end and you could use the SLT version which would add to the arc in stacking which would put your smaller MG-350 combo closer to your ears on smaller stages. But using the MG-ULV-112T also allows...

@otto B --- thanks for the question. I was chatting with Nate Navarro over the weekend and posted your question to him. He's got a unique perspective as he uses both amps for all of his demo videos. Here are his thoughts, if this might be useful to the conversation: "The Kinetix lacks no...

@Bassheart365 ---Thank you for using our MG-ULV-212T and the kind words about this new line of cabs. As cabinet builders in, we are all aware of the drive from players for more compact, lightweight gear, and in bass amps we've achieved that for decades. With the new MAGELLAN, ULTRA * LIGHT *...

@N. Kentucky Bass ---Thanks for the question. No issues at all. These tubes run at 300V within their design, they get plenty hot on their own,as they are designed to do. No issues from being in a hot enviornment, either sitting in a car or playing.

    Genzler Amplification Club

I could provide some feedback from our perspective in designing the amp and from real-world use as GENZLER AMPLIFICATION does 100% of our own service work, and we've not run accross any amp with shut down problems due to performance heat issues. Now I will never say never, as there could be...

    Double Bass Acoustic Array Pro

Yes, as stated the Gollihur version does use our Neo bass woofer from the BA10-2-S2 cabs. So benefits are better low end extension, increased power handling, higher efficiency so a bit of perceived higher output. And the GOLLIHUR version will be a little lighter aa well. Hope this helps.

    Genzler Amplification Club

I would agree with your comments here. I would not catagorize this by music per se, but yes, a complex mix usually would warrant a setting more towards the LEAN side. And of course, stage or room acoustics would play heavily into this as well. We do feel its nice to have the options on the...

  35. Jeff Genzler

    Genzler Amplification Club

Yes, it is substantially different. To simplify, it is not just an adjustable frequency at the same slope throught out the frequency range you might choose. The slope actually changes as you roll up the frequency, so that even a HPF setting of 80Hz it is still a musical sounds slope and not...
  36. Jeff Genzler

    Genzler Amplification Club

@TheBass ---- Good question. While the HPF is set at approx 28 - 30Hz at 24dB slope, the LF "feel" of the amp is impacted by a few of the other features. When using the DRIVE channel, the more you turn up the GAIN control, it also rolls up the low frequency response so that the overdriven tone...

@witchhammer92 --- Congrats on joining TB and for your interest in our bass amps. @TechsMechs --- Thank you for using the NC-212T. Sorry to hear about your recent back issue. You're not alone in that. I hear it often. Regarding the BA2-115-3SLT, it is somewhat of a sleeper to many players, as it is not your normal 15" cabinet. Compared to your NC-212T, there will be a...
