Hi all! First post here.
I’ve preordered my Aria Pro II Cliff Burton signature model and can’t wait for it to arrive. Wanted to see if anybody else who’s preordered has received it yet. If so, how is it? How does it play, sound, feel? There is very little user reviews online about it.
Big news to those into Cliff Burton and his pedals, tones, etc. This comes as a modern reissue of the OG Telray Power Wah Boost PWB of the 70's/80's, ofcourse with modern design choices like being powered with the standard 9V instead of 120V/240V, glow-in-the-dark treadle grip, LED indication...
Hello, I know there’s probably some threads out there about this pedal, but I was wondering what people’s opinions are on the Morley power wah. I know cliff Burton used the power wah boost and the fuzz. Was wondering if I could get a similar tone with the power wah and something like a big muff...
Hey ! I have a tel ray PWB but when i active the wah and put the pedale heel down the sound is muffled, like no high end and even with heavy compression eq it doesn't change .
Which is strange cause without it i have a really crystal clear sound with a lot of attack but with the wah its all bassy...
Hello, I want to buy a morley wah for a cliff burton esque tone.
Cliff I believe used a morley fuzz wah. The problem is that I have a budget of 200 cad and the fuzz wah is about 250 cad. Luckily I have the budget for the morley switchless wah, which is about 170 cad.
I already have a big muff...
Have you seen one of these listed? 1986 Aria Pro II Black n Gold. Some dings and scratches but in very good condition. Plays amazing. Very hard to find! Ships in a gig bag. Shipping 100.00.
Hello, TalkBass, I'd just like to as everyone here who their favorite bassist is. No Arguments. Although feel free to rank them, It's no contest though. To answer my own question, It's Cliff Burton of Metallica! Rest in peace, Cliff, My dearest condolences to your family. After him, It'd be...
Hello, I personally think that Cliff is the #1 bassist of all time. The GOAT. (And the best Metallica bassist). His lines were incredibly melodic and Nicely written. He always had amazing tone. I even have his Signature Fuzz Wah from Morley.
I really need some help with this one. It's gotta be a wah with a real powerful sound, not a weak subtle little "weh.." (Looking at you, Sonicake products). Something like Cliff Burton's playing on the track "The Call Of Ktulu". Something that sounds absolutely monstrous. Something that delivers...
I was listening to the Master of Puppets album recently, and after listening for a while I really started paying attention to the bass on the album. I love the tone on it, and have been experimenting on how to get it since then. The problem is that I'm pretty clueless on how to get it. I need it...
Hey everyone, I previously made a thread talking about Cliff's pedals, and a few fellow users have put in some input with more refined data. So heres Cliff's pedals pt.2:
Early 1983 (Cliff Burton's first gigs):
Cliff used a Morley Power Wah Boost, Boss CS-1, and MXR Stereo Chorus.
Kill Em...
2023 Aria Pro II SB-1000 in black. I bought it new from Ish Guitars on 5/16/23. It has sat in the gig bag and has less than an hour of play time. Never gigged and has never left my home. No dents or dings and it plays and sounds amazing! Condition is excellent to mint. If you were to look...

Yes, yet another cliff burton thread by yours truly:thumbsup:
Today I was messing around with the delay in Logic Pro, and found it hard to obtain something similars to cliff's delay in the lyceum.
My question would what would be the right setting for a delay to achieve something similar and so...

Although I know he used his TS9 and Rickenbacker for the majority of his recordings in RTL, I was wondering if anyone knew if he still had his flatwound rotosounds on his bass when recording the album? I was also wondering why he was using flatwounds for Kill Em' All as well.
Ive recently stumbled across an image of cliff burton, where you can clearly see his pedals, and im dying to figure out what the two from left to right are, as the morley is quite obvious its a morley.
I Cant really know what the pedals are as they dont appear to have any knobs.
Hello everyone, lets start off by saying Cliff Burton is and will be my favourite bassist.
With thats said, I came here to have peoples opinion.
I love the mud and the bass of the mudbucker, and as some of yall know Cliff used a mudbucker on his Rickenbacker 4001.
I plan to get a Rickenbacker...
Selling one rare all-known Arias japan made bass. Cliff ones played same version only with one pickup, later he modified it with a differ pickup, though it is amazing even in stock condition. This one has extra variants of sounding due to pickup and switches combination
Has body-thru 5-piece...
Hey guys, Im looking to get Cliff Burton´s tone, but dont know what wah pedal to get, looking for a RTL tone.
Should I get the lead wah boost, voiced for high gain, the wah boost, or a telray 1970´s power wah boost?
Hey there, though of getting my own signature sound with any rickenbacker bass, but then I thought that a few people are already so known than when you mention "rickenbacker bass" you go "Lemmy", "Cliff Burton", "Al Cisneros" etc. So I though that If I were to become this famous person or...
I remember watching a video, probably from andriy vasylenko, talking about cliff burton's pedals or something like that, and he played an audio recording of cliff burton playing for whom the bell tolls live with an ibanez hd1500. Ive looked everywhere but can't find the audio nor the video. If...
1982 Aria Pro II SB-700 bass guitar, made in Japan. This is a nice example of the SB-700 in a somewhat rare, for this model, black finish. If you’re looking for that John Taylor vibe (although he was most often pictured with a black SB-1000), this will definitely help you! So many great players...

Here’s a cool 1984 Aria Pro II RSB-Deluxe I, made in Japan.
This the single pickup version which I prefer as it gets much closer to the classic SB tone! I would say this is a poor man’s SB. The pickup sounds a little beefier than some of the SB pickups. This will get you some of those great...

Hello. I am currently seeking an 80's Aria Pro II SB Black 'n' Gold in any usable condition.
I've seen these sell semi-regularly on Reverb and Ebay, so I know they are out there. Hoping to buy direct and I am willing to pay the going rate.
Cheers!
Here’s a really cool Aria Pro II Thorsound TSB-550, in the more hard to find Black ‘n’ Gold edition! This was made in Japan at the Matsumoku factory in 1982.
This is basically a “junior” Cliff Burton SB as it is a medium scale and looks very similar to the SB series. I recently had the pickup...

Here’s a beautiful Aria Pro II SB-R60 in a natural oak finish. It has a very nice looking grain and a rich, natural oak finish.
The R60 will help get you classic tones of the ‘80s. John Taylor, Cliff Burton, Bruce Foxton, Tony Butler (Big Country), and many others, all played the SBs in the...

The Ducks are a weird and aggressive 2 piece, hailing from the gentrified shores of Brighton. They’re the bargain bin soundtrack to broken Britain.
Cliff Burton lives on.
We played a live streamed gig 12/02/21.

It appears Metallica is doing a live stream tonight on Twitch to showcase the life of Cliff Burton. As today is Cliff's birthday, that is appropriate. I thought since he impacted so many bass players around the world that we here at Talkbass would like to catch this stream. He certainly inspired...
