Early days in this project.
Shine 6-string (further research required; picked it up earlier this evening)
I reckon I can find a really cool voice in it. Pickups/bridge position(or size) is one major issue. S'pose that's why it was dirt cheap in the first place.
The temptation to wire in a bridge piezo along with soap bars, or something similar, keeps jabbing at me.
With the body wood... and one beam, separate headstock neck... cheap rosewood on it... I can do all sorts to improve it before I modify it, but...
...any of those upgrade components alone cost 3x what the guitar did... if not more than even the original sale price. Hell, even decent strings cost more than what I paid for it.
I don't think I'm going to do that, this time round. Probably just the most effective, cost-effective route - as long as I can make it sing.
My question is - how far would you go in this case?
