Was able to get a ‘58 fsr roasted neck in the classifieds , so I decided to put together a ‘58 Roasted precision parts bass, as luck would have it , Guitar mill had a nice 1 piece roasted swamp ash* body ready to go, it came today
, will have Arcane ‘57 pickups , which if any pickguard should I go with before I start drilling

For reference here is the most common version of the 1959 Fender Precision Bass sans the bridge which was the result of my ill advised youth. At the time, as far as I know, there were no natural finish Fender Precision Basses between 1957-59. The closest would have been white which over time would have had slight wood grain visible through the finish. Custom colors were available.

This is not a replica of an actual ‘58 it’s the avri roasted ‘58 special run they did a few years ago which is tough to find these days

just to be clear Im putting together a replica of a replica of a model that never existed

The simplest solution is the most elegant, IMO. No PG at all. I’d consider a gold anodized or bright chrome control cavity cover and pearloid dice knobs (for that little touch of gaudy). You want it to be like no other.

In this instance - black works sell on Natural.
But being it's not drilled, an MM-like control Plate works. Either from the aluminum gaurd, or brass might look good, if you could source such a thing.

The 2 Torts - not so much, but I'd be happy to take them off your hands... 😏
