W-O-W! I was just browsing around Musicians Friend and I noticed that the Marcus Miller Sig is now going for $2300!!! It's a full $1100 more than the $1200 the four string version. Isn't that a little on the steep side? Why is it that much more?

$1,100 for another string?

110 dollars for a wider neck,another tuner,bigger pickups,bigger pickguard,bigger bridge,bigger nut,more fret wire,different body since the neck pocket would have to be made larger....
The Marcus V is also made in the US where the 4 is Japanese. I remember when they were around $1500-1700. Still a great bass for $2300.00 though, I get a bad jones for one every time I play one.
as someone that's owned both and currently owns an MM5...night and day difference and the 5er is totally worth the extra $$$. The MM4 is great, but if I had kept it, I would have had to update the electronics in it to get it usable for my tastes. The MM5, not so. I love it stock. One of the best 5 strings I've had in many years. And as already stated, MM5=MIA....MM4=MIJ.
