1/4" Output limiter

Hi guys.

I've got an AKG wireless system that my bass output is too hot for. It clips constantly even with the gain on the wireless transmitter turned all the way down. Is there any kind of 1/4" female to male plug that can drop the signal a little bit?

If one doesn't exist, any idea on what size resistor I'd need to add to between the bass and wireless to cut it down some?
 
Weird, I've never heard of/read of this issue.. which pups/electronics do you have.. if passive, you should not have that problem.
Standard pups on a Spector legend, EMG with the tone pump jr. active preamp. I've turned the volumes down about 50% and it doesn't make any difference. More than that and the tone starts to change quite a bit. I like how it sounds when it's cabled with the pots at 100%, so I don't want to change the character of the sound just to fit when I'm using wireless.
 
is this a cheap AKG, or is it busted? you shouldn't have to throttle back just to keep your wireless from clipping.

do you have the EQ knobs on the bass dimed? that causes its own problems, but any wireless worth a damn should still be able to take it.

anyway yeah, a pad can be made up in a little cable jumper, or even in the cable to the wireless itself. 25k pots are the normal value to turn down active signals, and off the top of my head i'm guessing that a 25k audio pot turned down to about "7" would tame your signal a bit without killing it.

that equates to about a 12k resistor in series with the hot and a 12k resistor between hot and ground.
