Maybe off topic but. . . what would an upgraded SX sell for? Anybody ever done that?
A SX may be a lot of things, but its not a bass to try to flip a profit on -- not in our lifetime!

What the Hell is an SX?
The problem with that is that SX doesn't seem to have any standards. I've got two that I bought a year apart and nothing lines up on them.Just as a suggestion, get the SX's and go Clapton on em, put together the best body/neck/tuners etc, then maybe sell the rest, and buy a used Fender maybe?
Only if they were the only basses ever made mate! I've got one and from the sounds of it, I got the dud! Then again, I'd take a Yamaha over a Fender any day, but it's all personal preference!
