1 Piece Mahogany Body for cheap?

$150 for a 1 piece Mahogany body seems like a crazy deal. Do you think these are actual mahogany or one of the substitute species?

5+ lbs is on the heavy side for mahogany. It's whatever mahogany is more abundant right now, so hard to say where it comes from and what it's usually referred to there. (most likely China) Also, especially viewing the back of the J you can see the planing chatter marks so there needs to be some serious sanding/leveling done to get a decent smooth finish. Considering that, it would be a good body to plane thinner (to 1.5") which would also bring down the weight a bit. So $150 is probably fair ATC.

Interesting site based in Canada. They sell Aria pro Jazz basses fully finished in 2t sunburst with a 1 piece alder body for less than $200. I would rather by the Aria and upgrade.
