One space left: what should I put in my rack case?

So after our gig last night, I dropped my Gallien Krueger 1001RB onto the floor. It wasn’t in a case, it hit my thigh on the way down and landed on a corner. It has a small ding, I plugged it in when I got back to the jam space when I got home and it still works. Thing is a tank!

Anyways, I’ve decided to put it back in the 3 space rack case I have. This will leave me with one open rack space. Now, I really don’t *need* anything. My pedalboard has a Boss TU-3 tuner, a Darkglass preamp pedal, flanger, EHX canyon and an MXR analog octave. Our band is a rock cover band, we do mostly 90s rock with a few 80s and classic rock tunes. I like to mess around and have fun with effects and stuff as well. For example: We do a spaced out version of 7 Nation Army by the White Stripes where I use the flanger then kick on some dirt for the choruses. Guitarist uses some crazy modulation effects for the guitar solos. That kinda thing.

So my question to you guys is: what should I put in the remaining rack space? What would you put?

I'm a big fan of the later ART rackmount PSU's, the ones with dual meters showing voltage and load (in amps).

Besides the light tube thing and the meters, they used to have this neat "preview" function which allows you to check the power before you cut everything on.

Looks like that has been replaced by a pair of USB power ports on the front which are probably more useful for most people.

It also lets you know while playing if there is a voltage sag and what amperage you are drawing.

The back has the usual outlets but half are spaced for wall warts, the other half are conventional outlets, spaced right next to each other. Also a racklight on a gooseneck is included for the back of the rack which can be handy. They have an unswitched outlet on the front as well.

I'm also a big fan of rackmount tuners, you don't wind up staring at the floor a lot and you can check your tuning by hanging out back at the rig while the singer banters with the crowd.

Used Korg DTR-1's are around everywhere and super cheap these days.

So I'd buy a four space rack and put the ART and rackmount tuner in there, those two will add about 13 pounds of weight but well worth it IMHO.

best to leave empty for ventilation.

I looked up the specs and the entire amp is only 8 inches deep. The fan looks to be a good 4 inches so I don't think any rack unit made would fully clear the vent. I suppose a rack tuner might leave half of it open but that's not optimum.

Either an inexpensive Furman power conditioner for the little lights it has to make it easy to see the settings on your amp, or a pull out drawer you can put your amp's cables into as well as other assorted accessories.

attached files are all the same picture and you have to download them to see them. TB has a mountain icon next to the smiley face icon that is the "picture icon". If you click on that it will let you upload the image from your files. Then you can display it "full size" so everyone can easily see it without needing to download and open it.
