Why do I never see any 4 ohm 1 x 15" cabs anywhere like online or in stores or driving their lowriders down the street or anything?

1 x 15" 4 ohm Cabs. Are they a myth?

It's usually an option, but in my case I want to use a 410 with my 115, so I need 2 8 ohm cabs since 2 4 ohm cabs would be too low for most heads to handle... just my experience
The non-neo Carvin br115's (not the newest br115n) are 4 ohm, or at least some were. Might be able to find one used.
If you can't find one, though, plenty of 212's are available in 4 ohms, and they might give you a good thump sitting under the redhead.

What's the damping factor of the amp at 2 ohms?.
Very low impedance is not usually desirable from a design point of view,
well unless you are in trouble for power supply voltage, like with a car battery. Lets see if we cant have a few new amps that can deliver full output into the industry standard speaker impedance other than in bridge mode. The swings the thing man. The voltage one in this instance.

Not exactly a cab, but the SWR "Black Beauty" has a single 4-Ohm 15" driver.
The "Son of Bertha" uses an 8-Ohm version of the same one, I believe.

Peavey Black Widows come an a 15 4 ohm.
Many times the low cabinets are not rated at 4.. people seem to want to daisy chain multiple lower rating cabinets to achieve 4 ohms.... vs one higher quality

Sorry!, a lower power rating has nothing to do with quality, although in this day and age it may have more than a little to do with honesty.
What does a loudspeaker sound like at its maximum thermal rating?.
Also how long will it last?.
If this amp is run at near maximum power and you love good fifteens the ideal new cabinet is probably something like a sealed 4 X 15 with light weight cones and voice coils, Very agile 15's that produce good midrange tone.
Or get something to absorb the power safely, it will however be the worst bass guitar sound you ever heard but as its ohms are very very low (2) and its power handling is very very high 5000 peak and so must be the quality?.
not! it would sound like mud.
15" independently tested at 6050 watts peak to peak for one hour 37 mins before thermal failure.
In physics the problems of trying to throw a large amount of thick copper wire and some cardboard back and forth a long way, tends to have a limiting factor on how often per second you can actually make it do it.
Therefore as a general rule, the higher the real thermal handling of a fifteen inch the muddier and slower the response.

The heavier the moving mass vs the motor strength than the less midrange and highs the speaker will produce. It won't make the response any slower though.

All I can tell you is that in the owners manual and on the web site S.W.R. says that their new Redhead puts out 400w @ 4 ohms, 525w @ 2.67 ohms & 650w @ 2 ohms.
650w rms into 2ohms @>0.1%thd, 1khz
Min impedance 2 ohms.

Agreed.
However some amps will do 2 ohms all day or night without bridge mode and without breaking a sweat, provided they are designed right. I'm sure Liam will agree with me when I say that my Genz Benz GBE1200 will do 2 ohms flawlessly and runs cool even when mounted in a tight rack. It is however a beast with a huge transformer and at 42 lbs is no lightweight.
I do think that 4 ohms (total load) is the standard most designers work with and that's why most cabinets are 8 ohm.
Besides, if your amp can do 2 ohms you can still add just an 8 ohm cab along with your 4 ohm cab and get 2.67 ohms. Or just pick up a decent used single 15 and toss in a 4 ohm speaker.
