112 speaker choices.....which would you buy?

I'm in a speaker shake up now. My rig is a TH500, a Lakland 4494 w/ Barts, and an A Bass Jade. I sold my DB112 pair to fund the Lakland purchase. So now, I'm sort of speaker-less....well sort of. I have a TC112. I use the Thunderchild for rehearsals and 'small' pick up stuff where a grab'n-go is warranted. Realistically, I'd like to leave the TC112 at my rehearsal spot once a new pair of speakers is purchased. If I needed a grab'n-go speaker in the future, I'd just pull one speaker from the newly purchased pair. So I guess I'd like to know what 112 pair would you get. Again, keep in mind....using a TH500.

I have some contenders; Baer ML112's, Aguilar DB112's, maybe try to find some used Bergantino AE112's, Aguilar SL112's. Anything I'm missing?

Not really interested in a 212. Wanna keep it modular. Also, need two 8ohm cabs. Weight, anything DB112 heavy or lighter.

I dig what I've read about the Baers and their in-your-face prog rock tone. They have no tweeter, but do have a mid-range driver which extends up into "high ranges".

I also dig what I've read about the ACME 12" speakers, which come in the Flat (12", no tweeter) and one with a tweeter, the Full Range. The also come in 8 or 4 ohms. This really appeals to me because I have a dual amp head and can run a pair of 4 ohm cabs in bi-amp mode at 400w each. These cabs also are a bit smoother but are clear in lows, mids and highs.

I would at least read up on these. My Bass Gear mags covered them both extensively.

I owned a pair of ML112's prior to buying the DB's. Flipped them cause I needed some fast cash and wasnt that in love with the in-yo-face mid presentation. The DB's are a bit smoother. Supposedly Roger tamed the mids on the ML's. If I were to guess, prob now sounds more in-line like the mid presentation on the DB112s.

Hmmmmm. Acme. I need to give em a look. Used to live my old B4. Heavy as hell...but sounded glorious.

Well I hope it's okay for me to reply here, since evidently you like the TC112 but are looking for a pair of 8-ohm cabs.

Rumor has it the TC112 is available now in 8 ohms.

Unfortunately it's not practical to convert from a 4 ohm v1 cab to an 8 ohm v2 cab, especially since I've switched to a different horn, and the crossover is optimized for the new horn. Also the internal layout is different - the crossover board is on the side of the box on the 8 ohm cab, leaving room for a pole-mount tophat on the bottom of the cab for people who want that.

The ML112's will still sound quite a bit different than the DB112's. Totally different design goals.

Id, go for the aggie sl112's they sound great, and r the lightest cab ever! -d
