12 string bass?

Yeah, they're pretty awesome. I got to play one at a Chicago GTG & it was super cool. I don't remember what kind it was... I was on my second sheet to the wind.
Yep, played one for a while in a band heavily influenced by Pearl Jam... bought it just so we could cover Jeremy, but it ended up being a part of the band's sound.

I have a Waterstone TP 12 string bass and love it! Huge sound, fun to play, and looks cool to. Still, it is an investment just to have a round. Make sure you want to play it and use it.
I love the Dean Rhapsody 12 (their best bass). I had to build up my fingers for that monster but, Man! Does it roar.
I was playing all the Kings X's tunes at home. I can't say enough how bad that bass is.

It's not as crazy as some may think. I use it for 80% of the set now..on shorter gigs..the whole night.

You resemble Tom Delonge from blink 182 in this pic. I want to try a 12 string bass...maybe not tuning it, but i'd love to try. I tried an 8 string at GC once...IIRC, it was a Kramer XM8.
Not sure if that's a compliment or a slam. I played the Schecter Stiletto Elite 8 string at Drum City Guitarland a few years ago and it was cool, but the knobs were loose and it kinda bummed me out. For $900 it should at least have the basics down as far as fit & finish are concerned.

I've considered a 12-string, but I'll probably just convert my Squier to an 8-string with a Schaller 471 bridge and call it a day. I don't like the two-piece bridges on 12-strings.

I envy Jean. I play an 8-string that weighs as much as his 11 and my leg falls asleep under the weight after more than an hour. My tapping skill is also far worse.
My tapping skills are nonexistent. I'm only playing 5 strings at the moment too. Soon enough I'll get myself a 6. Who knows where I'll go from there?
I'm loving the funky slapping in the earlier video!
