13 string Bass

pretty cool....thanks for posting. I was hoping he was going to say it was going to be fretless.

Do you know him.......and/or know when it will be done?

Thanks a bunch.

Sone day we will find an upper limit...we're not there yet though! :D

well, I've found mine..... six strings.
:D

I really love watching people though "test the limits". I think it's great that the instrument is evolving so and I'm very grateful to the players and builders that are pushing it.

I don't think I'd ever go higher than 7, though I'm most at home on a 4!

I almost went with a 7 a couple of months ago (bought a new Ken Smith 6 instead).

Do you know what the odd thing was that kept me from the 7????.....the feel of the high, plain string on my right hand callouses. I've never heard anybody complain of this so it must be just me. That plain string would kind of "catch underneath" my callous though.

I had the KS 7 and 6 side by side.....visited the shop three days in a row....came home with the 6.

And oooops....I'm sorry...didn't mean to take this OT.

If you look at his other video, he says that he's making the neck out of pine. And it has all these wierd supports on it. I dont think the neck will be able to hold up.

exactly. if yer gonna put that much stress on the neck, don't make it like an old danelectro. I do however applaud his efforts. don't knock unless you've tried I guess.
