Tuned in 2nds eh....I'm assuming major 2nds? So it's basically a fretted, whole-tone harp. I love it

I like the idea, but honestly, I think he's pushing it. What is the point of tuning in 2nds? He might as well have a string for every note he wants to play. He won't have to fret any notes that way! And, are guitars even 26'' scales??

Guitars are usually around 24-25". So it's a little longer

It's a long scale, 13 string, out of tune, extended range guitar.

26" is a scale you see really commonly for a classical guitar (up to 26.5") so it's not out of the norm at all.

I almost went with a 7 a couple of months ago (bought a new Ken Smith 6 instead).

Do you know what the odd thing was that kept me from the 7????.....the feel of the high, plain string on my right hand callouses. I've never heard anybody complain of this so it must be just me. That plain string would kind of "catch underneath" my callous though.

I had the KS 7 and 6 side by side.....visited the shop three days in a row....came home with the 6.

And oooops....I'm sorry...didn't mean to take this OT.

i know what you are talking about, but not all the 7 string sets have an unwound high string - my sets have .022" wounds, and i also have a few of my 7's tuned with a low F# instead of a high string.

Yeah, TB can be a hard place at times, especially if you're trying to do something that's way outside the box ....
