1350W heads into 1200W cab

Ok, in bridge mode you will want to be careful because the cabinet (I'm assuming it has the original PAS drivers) is probably closer to 600-700 watts mechanically.

In this case, the 1350W rating is RMS, and the burst power is what you would use comparing to the mechanical power handling of the speaker.

When the PAS speaker was originally being used, there were not the very high powered amps available but as amp power grew, the failure rate grew even more quickly with the PAS driver. T lower power levels, the PAS driver is a very nice choice, butcsince they are no longer manufacturing drivers or replacement parts, damage may not be repairable without changing all of the drivers and recalculating the porting. I don't think the later Eminence version is available anymore either (but I'm not 100% sure and don't have access to this information)

May've if you had two cabs, it would work longer.

Or maybe just keep the output reasonable without tons of bottom.
One of my rigs is a SVP preamp with a 1500 watt head through a 2x15 with Altec 421's.
The amp could send the drivers into outer space.
Been using this for at least 10 years without issues.

If you use common sense and dont ask your 112 to sound like a 410, you'll be fine. Your comment is like if I said, "if you buy a ferrari, you WILL get pulled over for speeding". No, if you speed you'll get pulled over for speeding. the car is irrelevant, even though it has greater capacity for high speeds.

I took the OPs desire to run a 6x10 indicated a need for lots of volume, pushing the cab to it's limits. That's why I also suggested an HPF, lower watts and more speakers.

I just wanted to point out the issue with ragging on high power amps as cab killers. Yes, they can be if you're not intelligent in your use of them. But they also offer a lot of advantages even in smaller rigs, IMO. This is one of the few areas where I tend to pipe up on TB.

On the other side of this, I often see the results of a lack of good judgement, common sense or an unintended "accident" and with very high powered amps relative to speaker handling there's just not a lot of margin before damage occurs. For every one of you saying no problem, I see just as many players who got themselves into costly trouble. Saying it's no problem comes with an awful lot of reservations based on what I see on a daily basis.

information and education seems to be the best way to deal with this. If people know what theyre doing, theyre less prone to accidents. Yes, the margin of error is smaller before you damage something. But I also think the advantages that I personally experience with high power amps are worth becoming educated about, understanding what expectations are and arent reasonable, and being judicious in your use. And for everyone else, theres no lack of available options that are more idiot proof (for lack of a better term).

I know there are a LOT more guys out there using moderately rated integrated amps than weirdo's like me. But I like being a weirdo, and I encourage others to get weird to satisfy their particular amplification desires. Again its all about the power of information. If people were told "you can use a giant amp, you just have to be careful" there'd be less of those scenarios. Instead they primarily seem to be under the impression "you cant use an amp with a higher rating than the cabinet" which is incomplete and not really helpful, practically. And like I said, I'm such a fan of running rigs this way because of the extra performance I seem to get out of a given cab with a judiciously operated big amp.

Anyhoo, I digress ;)

As a manufacturer who must warranty their products, how would you handle the situation where somebody uses a much more powerful amp based on recommendation but ends up with blown speakers? The customer is sure they have good judgement and it's the speaker's fault, yet when faced with the evidence that the damage was cause by them they get VERY angry and blame the company. This is one of the unfortunate and costly (in terms of dollars and reputation) results within the general market of players.
