Can I just add to what everyone has already said about this bass.
Amazing shape. Beautiful contours and the longer horn has a really nice profile!
Also, the layering of the wooods gives a really nice layering of different colours! Especially at the neck heel.
Great job so far on this bass! Looks amazing.

I have a plan of a 4 string bolt on in the pipeline. I was wondering would the way you have an extra bit of wood added at the heel work for a bolt on? Because it would save alot of wood and time!!

Oscar's been busy!!!!

James,
Oscar does bolt-on jazz style basses with neck-thru construction. I'd really consider it if I were you! I'll try to snag a pic for you. I think I'm going to have him build a short scale piccolo that way. :bassist:

Those pickup routs look very wide compared to the spread of the string paths. What's the story there?
Hi Pilotjones
Yes, pickups are big. I was using my "big" 8 string templates, because we need enough space to fit all the Villex system. It is the first time for the passive eq. system, so I want to be sure that all fit inside
Here is a picture of James Walker 8 string bass with these big pickups.
Pickups looks bigger in Jauqo's bass, because he wants a smaller body.
