Ok, so the best solution is take off the vaneers, fill the holes and put new veneers... lot of work!

So I did it, and top veneer is gluing...

Sanding is finish, too. Today was 220, 320, 600
Pickups are ready. Knobs are ready.
Frets in position.
Oil!!

Ok, body and neck are 90% done. Tomorrow I will make the electronics cover, finish frets and glue the back headstock veneer.

Ok, so all covers are done. I put the last coat of oil on the body.
Back headstock veneer is gluing.
I hope tomorrow I can finish the bass. I need to make the headstock (refinish!), sanding it and finish it (coats of oil)
If all is going good, Sunday I will put wax, make setup and electronics!

Ok, so the bass is finish!!!
I was working all weekend, with the headstock, finish, tuning, setup and electronics.
The bass plays and sounds AMAZING!!!
Action is low, strings are flexible and soft, sustain and attack are great...
Now It needs a good hands...
Mi little girl wants a 15 string!

Garry Goodman gave me .010's and .009's
I installed the .010's
Strings sound fantastic!!!

Ahh, I had figured as much. I am not a huge fan of Garry after he blew his top at me for posting a relatively negative review of his .007 high A string for guitar on another board... but hopefully you will not have similar problems.

Do those strings require a "stretch" period before tuning them up to pitch?

Yes, a little bit, but then are great.
I think he is the only one that make .007
I use it for my ERB basses, never a problem. But strings are personal, you can liked or not
