Check out Jauqos site. He'd make that thing sing even if he played it w/ a 9-ironBeautiful! Since the octave strings are above the bass string.. is it going to be played with a pick?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why isn't it set up where you'd hit the octaves first on the down stroke?
Most 8-string basses I see have the main strings on the bottom and octave on top when you're holding it.
I know its not symmetrical, but I think that the headstock looks way more balanced and ascetically pleasing with the tuners moved to the correct position.
Ok, so we have the first video! My friend James Walker can't resist to play it. He never played 15, but it sounds pretty decent!

Oscar,
Good to see you on here, my man! I never did get back to you about using the Youtube clips from Summer NAMM. I don't see a problem with this if you'd still like to post them.
Sorry I won't make it to Anaheim this time, but perhaps I'll see you at Summer NAMM in Nashville.
Best,
Roy
Very cool Jauqo, What gauge strings are those?
Do you still have your other (name not mentioned) bass similar to that one?
Keep me on your list when you decide to thin the herd. I hope I can come take that one for a test-drive, when you get some time.
