15-string Prat Bass for Jauqo III-X

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why isn't it set up where you'd hit the octaves first on the down stroke? I'm on cold medicine at the moment so forgive if I worded that poorly. Most 8-string basses I see have the main strings on the bottom and octave on top when you're holding it.

Or I might need to revisit my NyQuil coma until I can process thoughts more betterer.

Most dual or triple course basses are made for some one who's primarily a pick player. My approach is that when I thump the E and A string I will hit the fundamental strings first. When I play fingerstyle I will hit the octave strings before I hit the fundamentals but the fundamental is in the mix. Just a natural flow.

I know its not symmetrical, but I think that the headstock looks way more balanced and ascetically pleasing with the tuners moved to the correct position.

Anyway, great looking bass!

Oscar,
Good to see you on here, my man! I never did get back to you about using the Youtube clips from Summer NAMM. I don't see a problem with this if you'd still like to post them.
Sorry I won't make it to Anaheim this time, but perhaps I'll see you at Summer NAMM in Nashville.
Best,
Roy
Oh, I see you did already! Cool!:bassist:

Hi Roy!
Thank you very much! It was a pleasure for me to meet you personally. Sometimes, I find better person than a player, and this is very difficult with you, because you are AMAZING!
See you soon
