Thank you!I must say, you play extremely well.
I preferred the sound of the '62 with the thomastik flats.
The '61 sounded a little 'hollow' but I believe this to be the strings, not the bass.
As a general comment, neither had the trademark sound I'm used to hearing from P basses of this vintage. To my ear they sounded a little more jazz-bass like, as in both pickups on with tone rolled off. That's not to say they don't sound good - they sound very good - just not quite what I was expecting.

Yes, I think you're right. When 8ths and 16ths are played staccato, the tonal character of the bass does not come to it's fullest expression because of the sharp attack/stop to the note. Perhaps with whole, 1/2 and 1/4 notes, I'd be able to pick the signature P bass sound a little better.Thank you!
Perhaps it’s the way I play and how I made the sound in the QC it reminds you of a jazz.
