I must say, you play extremely well.
I preferred the sound of the '62 with the thomastik flats. It has a fuller sound.
The '61 sounded a little 'hollow' but I believe this to be the strings, not the bass.
As a general comment, neither has the trademark sound I'm used to hearing from P basses of this vintage. To my ears they sounded a little more jazz-bass like, as in both pickups on with the tone rolled off. That's not to say they don't sound good - they sound very good - just not quite what I was expecting.
Again, superb playing.

Perhaps it’s the way I play and how I made the sound in the QC it reminds you of a jazz.

Yes, I think you're right. When 8ths and 16ths are played staccato, the tonal character of the bass does not come to it's fullest expression because of the sharp attack/stop to the note. Perhaps with whole, 1/2 and 1/4 notes, I'd be able to pick the signature P bass sound a little better.

Both sound phenomenal to me. Great tone. I'm leaning to the 61 but I can't articulate really why....maybe a little meatier and full frequency. The 62 is a bit grindier and slightly more compressed sounding...which don't get me wrong, I love that tone as well. But you asked. Enjoyed the video very much.
I like the 61 best but only because it’s my birth year. Both nice basses and really good playing.
In this context, with this song, I would pick the first bass. With the bass mixed closer to recording level I might change my opinion. But great playing!

I'm on team 61' with Fender flats. Don't really have any wise rationale as to my decision, as I don't speak technical very well lol. It just peaks my ear nostrils a little more.
I would however be interested to hear if there were differences in tone by switching the strings on each. Just wondering if the thomastiks would make the 61' sound even better or not.

'61 - i like the punch and articulation with it. they're both stellar sounding and your touch, tone and feel are beautiful, truly.
I like your playing a lot, you sound fantastic in these clips. I also like both sounds. I prefer the '61 here though, for the 'cut' you are getting with your attack and the envelope of the note.
I like the sound of the second bass, but the first one suits the track better. It’s smooth and fuller.

Great playing! I prefer the 61 slightly - the attack and tone is amazing on both and I'm really struggling to say why. I assume these are slightly older Fender flats? Those are my favourite strings when they were still in production, so I suspect it might just come down to the tone of the string and the tension and how it effects playing. Great video and amazing playing.
