What a major bummer. I read an interview Johnny Ace gave in 2011 and it looks like he is playing that same bass in every photo, even the ones going back to the late 1960s. I'll keep an eye out for it here in Richmond, Virginia.
This is why God invented German Sheppard’s. That totally sucks and I hope they find the bass and flay the perps!
Hope it's on some of the bass boards on facebook, plenty of traffic there. Thieves like this need more than jail time, maybe three or four broken fingers, maybe all ten. I bet they'd think twice about putting their hands on someone else's property if this was the standard punishment, instead of a mere slap on the wrist.
Wow, that is an authentic relic job - years of serious music making on that. Hopefully that amazing wear makes it more visible when thief tries to flip it. I’ll keep an eye out in my lil corner of the world - really hope he gets it back. I can only imagine it’s like losing a finger for him at this point.
I played this bass once. The action was kinda high but had a good thump. It felt like a really good piece of old wood in my hands sort of like a good archeological instrument. You felt history in your hands. Naturally reliced. Thanks for your wishes!
Great news for Johnny Ace someone left his bass in front of his door and he finally got it back this morning. God bless him!
