Mine have been pretty much perfect since I got them in Feb 2014.
Recently, I did an outdoor gig (East TX) on a nice humid evening.. and when I stepped up to sing, my right ear lost it's seal. It's definitely a "heat/sweat" thing, not a common problem, and not a build flaw.
I have no intentions of any re-molds or returns, as one or two gigs a year with this potential issue are not worth worrying about IMHO.

I talked to Alex at 1964 Ears yesterday (thanks for calling me back Alex!) and he said the quads are mid scooped compared to the v3 and the v6 stage. And that makes sense, especially if you are going direct to FOH, so that you sound in your ears like you're going thru an Ampeg or similar amp and cab. Am I understanding that right? I'm doing my tone shaping with my BDDI though, which sends a post-EQ signal to the board, so I am guessing this will "double" that effect with a quad.

I'm thinking "scooped" is a relative term..
When I think scooped mids, I think of the infamous smiley-curve EQ shape.
Yes, based on the pic below, there's more mids on the v3 vs Qi, but I wouldn't call them scooped.
I definitely do NOT notice mids missing in anything I'm hearing in my Qi's, so again.. I'd caution the use of scooped in this context. It may mean one thing to Alex (relative to the baseline eq's in his various products) versus what most musicians via as scooped.
In, short.. No! I disagree with your conclusion!

I'm wireless in (G90) and out. G90 goes via Korg tuner to SVT7-Pro. Then DI (line out) to X32. IEM is straight off my mix bus (from FOH-fed channels on X32) to Senn G3 IEM xmitter. No buss gate, eq or comp set.

Use x32Q app on iPad (sitting on top of my amp) to adjust individual channel and effect levels.

Basically, power up and go. For House FOH - we use our own mics/cables - and we map their snake split into our X32 channels. We get the same IEM mix from both house and band provided PA.

About a year and a half into my V6 Stages and I'm still 100% happy with the choice. I especially wanted the even, full range because I use these for mixing. That room in my house is cavernous and boomy so it would cost a fortune to "sound adapt" the room for mixing. MUCH cheaper and easier to use the V6 Stages! As for those of you needing bassier tone at a gig, just turn up the bass EQ or lower the hi's. Personally, I prefer gear with an even response rather than a baked in EQ curve. All the simpler to make the gear bend to my requirements or requirements of a particular venue!

BTW, I've got a Rolls PM351 & mic stand clamp for sale in classifieds if anyone needs one.

The time for questions is over. Last night I put my credit card where my mouth is (rhetorically speaking) and ordered my Ears. While I started thinking that the V3 would be plenty for me, and then suffered the doubts of "what if the quads are better?", I eventually sensibly settled on the V6 Stage! Many thanks to my audiologist who not only gave me advice but also asked a friend who is a musician/audiologist for advice for me, Chris the audiologist at NYC Hearing and Balance, who, while he didn't have any demo models for me to try out, was willing to give me the benefit of his time and advice, Alex and Natasha at 1964 Ears who patiently answered question after question, and my wife who told me to spend what I needed to spend to get a set of ears that would do the job properly and make me happy (I love that woman!) Mailed the molds today, so now it's just a 6-8 week wait. Next step: research and buy the wireless parts the ears plug into...

I worked with Chris as well and very happy with the experience (got plugs also). I did wish they had demos available if only to hear what changes.

if you have the $$ go with Senn G3 or PSM900. Adjustable limiters, frequency scanning, pilot signals, use wire in buds as extra antennae and so on.
Failing that, the entry level stuff (Carvin EM900, PSM200/300, Galaxy AS1100, AT, etc.) have various features you will need to research on what works for you. Mono vs stereo? limiting?
I have used Carvin, PSM200 and now the Senn G3. Carvin is stereo and worked fine for me even in mono. G3 is awesome. I got 25% off retail for brand new unit. I've read of folks getting up to 30% off. Deals are out there!

I'm in central CT so going to NYC would have cost me a day from work. If they had demo models I would have gone in, tried out models, and bought from them. They didn't, no fault of their own, since 1964 recalled what they had as part of a periodic "recall and replace" process. Buying without trying made it not worth me driving in, so I bought directly from 1964 (Chris' recommendation). But I want to share the love for them as the least I can do, since Chris was so accessible and gave of his time and experience to me.

Awesome!!! I've used Galaxy Audio, Shure PSM200 & PSM600, and they're all pretty terrible. I'm sure the PSM900 is great, but it's pricey. For the money, pick up a used Audio Technica M2 - they've got great signal quality, a wide frequency spectrum to choose from, and they come with an aux port to add an ambient mic via lapel mic. That ambient mic is killer!

My thoughts so far... (keep in mind i have my first band prac tonight, so have only been listening to music on them)

I was lucky enough to have a day where i needed to do a lot of walking at work yesterday so i tried them out with all sorts of music. NIN, ELO, James Blake, Fats Waller and so on. I absolutley loved the low end on these haedphones, just nice, deep and clear. And i think i heard things that i had never heard on any other listening device. Extremley impressed with sound quality.

However, My left ear piece goes and comes out really easy but my right ear not so much. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Does this go away after a while? Once the right ear piece is in its fine its just the putting it in and taking it out that seems to be more difficult. (I know that custom moulds take a while to get used to so i am not worried at all just intrerested)

Over-all i am very much looking foward to playing at band practice tonight and at a gig this weekend with these.
