1977/78 P Bass?

i have this P Bass and I’m trying to figure out if the decal is fake or if this is a legit 77 /78 p bass. I figured I’d let pros decide for me.

Tough to say but definitely not a U.S. Fender, let alone a late 70s one.

Bad fake. Doesn't even look like the earlier logo before 76 that it was modeled on.

Headstock shape, bold print serial number, the Precision Bass applied as almost an afterthought.

If you’re doubtful, google some pics of ‘77-78 Basses and look at logo-serial number decals on the headstock.

It's obviously fake all around. It really doesent look like any overseas Fender headstock either...the shape of it is so wrong and well out of proportion.

I sure hope you didnt pay anything over 100 bucks for this bass.

That's not a tv logo, not even a local cable tv logo! The tv logo it's trying oh so hard to replicate (poorly) was swapped out for the script type in mid '76.

Not only that, the part of the headstock below the G string tuner looks like has a hernia.
