1978 Kavkaz Bas Restore

I took the logo off the name plate and we laser engraved it onto the headstock!

So just a quick update. The bass is all put together. The new neck was over 1/4" thinner than the original. So that was a hurdle. Onto the electronics. The pickups are working, but both 1 Meg pots are shot! The 5 position rotary switch is working, but a bunch of ground issues!! Got to get new pots, then I can start getting that switch figured out..

Update pic's tomorrow. Turns out all the electronics were shot except the pickups. So, new pots, switches, and jack. Knobs were cracked so I found some vintage Top Hat knobs with the chrome tops so at least they look like they should have been on the bass. All and all, this $50 bass wasn't worth the time and effort, but I bet it will be fun to play...

It's worth it for the experience! I like nothing better than getting a basket case and making it into a nice player:)
