hello all!! So the other day, in a music store, I saw this MIJ P bass with a JV serial number plate. It's selling for a pretty decent price, but I've never seen JVs in candy apple red before and am feeling a little skeptical, does anyone know if this is legit? It seems to be a 62 reissue with a strap button at the back of the headstock.

    Thanks y'all!

They were either 57 or 62 reissue and had the strap button so that's correct. Also the white pickguard is correct for a Squier JV. On colors I'm not sure, they did have a Fiesta Red but this doesn't look like that. I've seen a darker red JV strat so maybe this was done with that color. Or could be a refin.

From what I see it looks legit. For more info check out this site...

Looks legit but I've never seen a Candy Apple Red JV Precision since they were introduced back in 1982. Sunburst, Black, White yes but not CAR. I'd take down the serial number of it and track it online to see what comes up.

Yeah, I've been doing a fair amount of research on these basses but haven't been able to find any other JV Ps in Candy Apple Red, which is why i'm feeling a little skeptical(?)
