Did any explanation come with the "offical" word. There is nothing that says stereo with my Foundation S. I had previously heard that the S stood for Schaller, which may be wrong, but makes some sense since the bass has Schaller tuners and pickups.

1980s Peavey Foundation appreciation thread

Did any explanation come with the "offical" word. There is nothing that says stereo with my Foundation S. I had previously heard that the S stood for Schaller, which may be wrong, but makes some sense since the bass has Schaller tuners and pickups.
Notes from the inside are very short and concise.
I'm not the type of barnacle that will ask for extended support or answers for a bass that's been out of production for 20 years.
This just crossed my desk from an authentic source... seriously on Friday.

Thanks for the info. This makes me wonder if the output jack is actually a stereo jack. I'll have to check the wiring.

Yeah, mine looks just like yours but with a maple neck and different knobs. Here's a pic. I don't really need a number since mine is over the line.
I had this exact same bass. Wish I had kept it. It dissapeared in my teenage years when I had little apreciation for things
. It was soooo easy to play.
And just exactly when were you going to tell me about the two fretless Foundations coming up on the market? I thought we were friends, and you know I love fretless. lol

Just let me know what you have coming out of the barn, cant afford them all , but might be able to afford another soon.
As for the TL6 fretless< if it sounds near as good as the TL6 you sold/ traded me, I know I will love it. You really are missing out if you dont try some DR stainless rounds on your other TL's. This thing freaking sings!!!
Back on topic< which Foundation fretless are you thinking about parting with? Kinda liked that one you brought to the hotel, neck issue aside it played well and sounded good. Even with flats, which I am not a big fan of, it sounded good. Make me a list< and picks if ya' got them.

The foundation sounds great in a band mix! with those super ferrites in series it really sounds frickin awesome! works well wiht my fuzz and OD too! it's deffinatly going to start making regular appearances at gigs for me!
also i saw a band using an old peavey foundation at a show last night. also sounded great! a little "hotter" sounding than the jazz that was on stage before but i think that is cuz the highs are little more pronounced in the super ferrites...

I love the Peavey Foundation basses. They always played nicely and had a ton of growl.
These are some of the most underrated basses, but for us Peavey fanatics, we know that they rule.
I saw a video on youtube called "Foundations" by Jerry Solomon. He plays four foundations in the video and the tone and playing is simple amazing. He dedicated it to "all of the Foundation fans on talkbass !"

I should be getting mine out of the shop today. I jacked up the neck tilt adjust, and had to have some pros straighten it out. I also had a Hipshot D-tuner installed while it was there.

I owned a fretless sunburst, with super-ferrites and poly knobs, I had shipped direct to my dorm room from Peavey in 1986. Great bass, I sold it, regrets....
Theres a fretless foundation up for sale in my area, and Im seriously considering it. It has two EQ knobs (or maybe a third because his stand may be covering the last one and i havent heard of any with two EQ knobs) and what I believe to be the Ferrite pups. Could anybody give me some advice on the bass and help me determine whether its 80s or 90s?
