I have a walnut P Special, and it's my favorite P bass ever. That would have been a great deal.

Update on the bass... The guy contacted me a couple of days ago. I told him I would go yesterday and see it. Turns out he pawned it.
I just don't get that whole story. Why would you sell a bass on eBay, then refuse the $1100 (actually it was a little over that) and go pawn it for less money? Doesn't make sense.Sure is a good thing that the TB'er who paid for it on eBay filed the claim. Woof.
Well you know exactly what it needs. Btw, we could all use another bass!I have a couple of guesses that are on the shady side. Or he just needs the money now. But if the bass is worth twice that much, I'm sure he could have sold it anywhere.
If I buy it my intentions were to fix it up and sell it, but honestly I fell in love with it. The question is do I really need another bass? I'm still thinking about it.
My wife seems to wholeheartedly disagree with that statement...Well you know exactly what it needs. Btw, we could all use another bass!
Yes there is a cd prefix. Was there a CD prefix ahead of the numbers...?.. There are 5 digits though....I'd be very concerned about the state of that preamp...its a limited run pre, just like the rest ofthe bass....I'd think that if it was absent and you'd have to replace it, that would devalue the bass quite a bit....The tuners can be replaced if they really are the culprit with the tuning issue....try to find a decent portable head that you can bringnto the store and plug it some headphones and see what you have before giving up any cash
This might be a dumb question but are those things really made of walnut or is it ash/maple with walnut stain? Never heard of a walnut neck before but I guess it would work.
