1982 Fender P bass special-walnut

I had one that I parted out, and used the body along with a maple neck I had., dumbest thing I have done to a bass so far

Weird....I bought that on eBay maybe 10 days ago and it's yet to get here, I don't even think he has shipped it...mim canceling payment today. Buyer beware..... It's in Texas right? Look up completed eBay listings and you'll see it.
To be very honest other than the fact it is walnut there is really nothing special about these.. They are typically heavy 80,s Fenders which were not that great to begin with. The active citcuit in mine was kinda noisy, but not too bad. I wouldn't lose sny sleep over this one.. There are plenty of better P-basses in the world.. Assuming you not looking to buy this for collector purposes..
Well he lives in my home town. I did email him and sent him a text. I figured he would have at least sent me a message telling me he had listed it on eBay or sold it. It kind of surprised me that someone from this small town would have a bass like that. I pretty much know all of the musicians here, especially the guitar and bass players, and I had never seen that bass. Nobody had even mentioned it.

To each his own, i suppose... I've had a real '65, a Pino CS and a CS '59 and I greatly prefer this ones versatility over those...my preamp is money and the bass weighs just over 9 pounds....like any other era of Fender, there are diamonds and dogs out there...
I would wait. It says right in the listing that delivery would be by July 2. Maybe he just forgot to cancel the CL listing.

I've bought a lot of things (including basses) on eBay. The buyer is protected. You hold all the cards. If you don't get your bass, file a claim and get your money back.
Thats always been the case with all instruments especially Fenders. I had a 2009 CS 64 J that I sold just to buy my current AV 58 P bass which in my opinion is a way better bass.
Also lets not forget that my experience with the bass was over 30yrs ago, so I'm not sure my recollection Is completely accurate.
Yeah, I had one too! an '82 active/passive walnut p bass special. That walnut neck/fb played like a dream but the bass was very heavy (12 lbs) and I traded it for my '77 walnut brown p (8 lbs).
Had one, sold it later, threw up on my shoes every day after for several years. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Go buy it.
