its not like there is no hf information in a bass speaker,it's a slope that rolls off.....the highest frequency of a guitar is around 1400 hz,save for harmonics, and i'm not sure that bass cabs with a flat response up to 5khz buys you much in a band situation....a lot of the hi fi cabs out there seem to be a solution in search of a problem.....Yeah, I don't play the mid or the high, I play the bass. I prefer to 2x15s to any other configuration. I like to rumble the guitar player's drink right off his amp.
I am playing thru 2 SVT 1x15 cabs,V4B head.Love it![]()

most of the ones i see demoed are solo,at low volume and in an enviornment that has little resemblance to most live venues, and real world volumes
maybe some magical tone leprechauns that massage my speakers and maintain my cabinet when I'm not playing out of it lol
Mesa Deisel 215 is one of my all-time favorite bass cabs. Plenty of mids, and more than enough bottom.

I'm a big fan of 2x15's, in general, but don't get the impression that they all sound the same. There's a lot of variation from model to model, with some being decidedly "old school" and some being more "bright and modern" sounding. Here are some of my faves:
Trace Elliot and Mesa/Boogie both = "epic win" in the 2x15 category, IMHO:

And yes, two 1x15's can be hella good, as well:

The Bergantino NV215 takes (tweeterless) 2x15's to new depths, as well as new highs. It has a killer mix of "new" and "vintage" tones (hence the NV line moniker):

And now for something completely different!

That's a Bergantino IP153, with the matching EX115 extension cab. This rig is like standing in front of a big, high-end studio monitor being played at "big gig" volumes.![]()

Of the current production 2x15's I have heard, the new Trace Elliot sounds quite nice (though I've only heard it at NAMM), and the Fender 215 PRO is an amazing cab (though it's also amazingly heavy!).
