2 "New" Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups

Hi Bass Folks,

I recently bought a MIM Fender Jazz (FSR Model - Ash w/ Natural finish) Before it arrived, I was planning to replace the pickups based on what I had heard about the p/us on the Standard models , but I must say that I really like the stock pickups - they sound great!

Can anyone provide me with any info on what these "New" Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups are all about and how they differ from the ones that Fender was using previously on their Standard models?

Thanks - YH

No small feat to figure out what Fender does with their MIA pups let alone MIM's. Seems they're assembling some MIA equiped basses in Mexico these days.

I've read a number of similar comments on the MIM's though I've never had them. I personally don't find pup specs of any value and definitely having the pup and hearing it is worth more than any breakdown of numbers for it.

If I was interested in aquiring more I'd go to ebay as they're pretty inexpensive. I doubt they'd be available seperately through Fender but you could email them. If your real lucky you might even get the specs you want out of them.
