2 x 12 Speaker Cabinet Recommendations

"Smallish and light" is really vauge. I had an Eden D212XLT and a D410XLT. The 2x12 was way easy to move by myself becuase it was a LOT lighter. And I seldom found the D410XLT to be a big problem to move (except the gig with 67 stairs between the load in and the stage). Certainly much easier to move around than either the Hartke 4.5XL or the Guild/Hartke 410s I had before that. Both are much smaller and lighter than an SVT or similar 8x10.

So, what area you looking for, OP? How small is "small" and how light is "light"?

BTW, the D212XLT KILLS. I shoulda kept it after the divorce..

Aggie GS 2x12 is where its at. Aguilar site says it weighs in at 70lbs, but its the lightest 70lbs I've ever pick up. Great lows and its not very deep so its easy for transport. Never been a big fan of Neo and because of no back problems still think the heavier the better.

My current speaker configuration that I am not completely happy with is as follows -
Schroeder 1212 (Before all the r & l junk) a Schroeder Mini 12 and a SWR Bass Monitor (Modified with upgraded speaker and horn).
I like having 3 cabinets for versitility. My total speaker weight is 110 pounds combined. All 3 cabinets. The Mini 12 is rated at 500w (8 Ohms), the 1212 is 1000w (8 Ohms) the Monitor is 500w (8 Ohms)...
Sorry to be so vague in the OP, but I am looking for something different, but the same quality. ALL Suggestions are fantastic... I am really learing a bunch about cabinets.

Sounds like the Schroeder 1212 is your problem. I tried the cabinet, and while it is a nice and light cabinet, the bass just isn't there. It looks like you should scrap the 1212 in favor of a 4 ohm large box 212. Without a large or pretty large box, 2 12's just can't produce the bass, by making it 4 ohm it would get more power to produce the bass and you could use the other two cabs as monitors, etc.

If you are looking to save a bit of cash the old SWR Bigfoot 212 is worth a second hand consideration. It has Bag End speakers in it, so is good value and not too heavy. I recently re-purchased mine after trading it 10 years ago and have been surprised how good it is with my Markbass amp, I also recall it sounding great with my SVT2 back in the day. Just a thought

EarCandy BassBomb, if you're not in a hurry, the wait time can be long. Mine provides the deepest lows but still retains clarity. I am always getting the same kind of compliment; "I never heard anything like that, your bass sounds fat / punchy deep / clear all at the same time." I intend to get a second to have a matching pair.
Weighs less than 60 Lbs.

I wish some of these better cabinets would be available somewhere to try out. I would love to A/B them. Unfortunately, there are real music stores here in South Eastern Wisconsin at all. The closest would be about 50 miles north or south...
