So, here it is - I am looking for a 2 x 12 speaker cabinet. It needs to be small(ish) light weight (ish) and powerful. I am using an SWR Bass 750. The cabinet needs to be 8 Ohms only, since I will be running 3 total cabinets to bring it in at 2.6 Ohms load.
Pricing is not the issue here. I am looking for road tour quality cabinets. Eventually I will be getting a pair as I go along.
I understand that Peavey, Behringer, Carvin, stuff is all fine and dandy, but not nearly the level that I am looking for.
All your suggestions will be of help...

Small(ish), Light(ish), and 8 ohms? There are very few choices. Most seem to only come in 4 ohms. Here's a couple of options:

I have heard good things on the avatars and I think they come in 4 and 8 ohm impedance.

My Epifani PS-112 holds quite well for a single 12 in a 5 piece band... You might check those out as well... I know that would throw your impedance requirement though.

I will be adding an additional ps112 here in a few weeks.

That is small(ish), light(ish), and puts out lots of low end like the OP wants? I can't seem to find too many.

Well there's the Mesa, Schroeder, Avatar, Gallien Krueger, Aguilar, Eden to start.

(I did a lot of research into this before I bought, can you tell :))

Yes, the lightEST and smallEST cabs are the Schroeder ones, but they're definitely not for everyone, and they're definitely not known for their low end.

I must be confused. No 212 cab from Aguilar, Eden, and Mesa, would I even begin to think was "small(ish" and light(ish)". I don't think Avatar is up to the quality the OP appears to be looking for. Nice cabs, I used to own one, but not what I think the OP is looking for. GK might be an option, but again I thought the OP was looking for something a bit higher quality than that. Nothing from Schroeder would I recommend to the OP, as he is looking for big low end.

I guess I'm just no help in this thread. I'll kindly back out now. Have fun kids!

Oh, I am looking for a hugh fat tone--Lots of bottom end

Since you have an 8 ohm requirement and need light weight and want a huge sound, I have to recommend Avatar. Not the best by any stretch, but that is a pretty specific requirements.

If you were open to 4 ohm, the Genz Benz Uber 212 would be perfect and would absolutely kill the Avatar or any other 212 all day long absolutely. The Eden 212 has a massive low end and comes in 8 ohm, but is non neo, so heavier than other commers at 75 pounds.

BTW, if your head is safe at 2.6 ohm, it should be perfectly safe at 2 ohm allowing for 2 8 ohms and 1 4 ohm cabinet.

You guys that are recommending the Mesa cabs....you consider those two be "small(ish) and light(ish)"?

I think those terms are subjective. The 212 isn't exactly 'heavy,' especially since the 212 is the only Neo cab in Mesa's lineup. Its like 75 lbs, which is kind of heavy compared to other cabs. I think to get the lower end that the OP wants, he'd be hard pressed to do it with a small cabinet design, so you have to take on SOME weight.
