Reminds me of the nice vintage Oberheim SEM CPS-1 that I got for €100 about 2 years ago.
But it was dead and repair it took well 2 hours.![]()
Didn't have that problem -though I'm sorry to hear you did because Oberheims are great synths.
Actually it sounds pretty unique. Much more clear and hi-fi with the round wound strings than I would have expected --except for the single coil hum. The neck pickup solo gets a nice growl with the tone turned down most of the way.
The tuning keys are a bit hard to work with, but they hold fairly well after tuning. Intonation isn't perfect, but I haven't fiddled with it yet. Probably will wait until I change strings. While like the sound with the included round wounds, I tend toward very light gage roundwounds and very low action. However, I am really curious how the bass would sound with flat wounds, so I may go that route. In any case, since the intonation is passable right now, I don't see the point in fiddling with it too much until I'm ready to re-string.
