$20 bass find: did I do ok?

If this is a 60's era Danelectro, I don't believe they came with truss rods, hence the low survival rate.

Looks like it's one of the longscale MIK DC RIs from the '90s to me.

My early '60s Danos have the usual two non-adjustable trussrods in the neck. They've held up just fine. In fact one has had the frets removed by a previous owner with no filler put in the slots and it's just as good as the others. I still gig with the fretted ones at times. The only reason I don't use the "fretless" is it has the 'skate key' tuners which don't hold tune very well. Re-fretting it and installing Kluson type tuners is a project I've been meaning to get to for decades.

Be sure to let us know how you like that neck profile.

The neck is a bit chunky for my taste (though I do own a Ric and play it often). Closest to a Warwick to me, but not exactly the same. I've got small hands so I tend to like something between a hofner and a jazz neck, with the pre-EB Sabre neck being my favorite.
That said, it isn't so uncomfortable that I wouldn't play it.

When I was looking at these in guitars, about 1 in 20 were playable.

You can get it to intimate though you might be giving it to a tech to make a bridge that is better and allows you to go back to the original.

I haven't looked hard but I'm pretty sure this is one of the recent reissues. My guess is that it is less than 20 years old.

I second the guess that it looks to be one of the 1990's MIK reissues, though at this point that could be 20 years (my how time flies). They were well done and you could probably easy get $200 for it. My brother had one of the Barritone guitars from that era and it was a pretty fun little guitar.
