2011 NFL Draft

It certainly will. There's 3 guys who can potentially take up 5 blockers.

But, they didn't take care of the back 7 like they needed to, which means they will still be susceptible to the toss and quick outside plays.

They do need work in that department, but if they can dominate in the pass rush and really plug up those wholes, then it could help to counterbalance the weak secondary issues they have.

Tampa killed it with their first two picks. Adrian has never had problems before last season's, so I wouldn't be too worried about him. Bowers is a little more risky but if he pans out, 75/25, this could be a huge steal. People talk about Detroits D-line (which is ferocious) but Tampa has as much, if not more potential.

......

Saints were screwed on their trade.

Dude, you're more of a homer than I am!

Tampa didn't KILL IT, they got KILLED. Two DL picks, one that will be swallowed whole by every OT in the NFL, because they KNOW one of his arms is essentially useless; the other that will probably never play anywhere up to his college potential - do you get that "bone-on-bone" knee injury is SERIOUS??? Heck, Bowers will most likely start the season on the PUP list!

:rollno:

As for the Saints getting screwed, remember that when you see your team's D get lit up like a Christmas tree because your DC doesn't know what's happening next. Remember 2009? This will be much, much better for NO...are they running? are they passing? is it a screen? who to???? HELP!!!

:smug:

..now, Atlanta DID get screwed, and by the Browns, but we all have to remember that now they do have a GM that has a clue, unlike Dimitroff.

;)

Not even the NFL can lock out the Kool-Aid guzzling Gard.

No Kool-Aid here...TB's first two picks are crazy. One dude with Erb's Palsy, the other with a serious (i.e. career-threatening) knee injury?

Seriously, you think we (Saints fans) weren't looking CLOSELY at both of these guys, based on their performance at the college level? Both looked good at that level, but if we'd picked either, I would have been furious!

I don't KNOW that Cameron Jordan or Mark Ingram WILL do well, but both are healthy (Ingram's injury last year was pretty minor and he was back at full speed by the 3rd game of the season), and have serious potential. Tampa's picks are very questionable, one has only one fully functional arm, the other may not even suit up next year - this is their first and second round picks we're talking about, not some round 7 flyer (i.e. Romeus)!
