Didn't see a thread about tonight's draft, so here it is.

Cam 1st doesn't surprise me. Just like last year, Carolina is setting themselves up to be irrelevant for the next 4-5 years.

Is Blaine Gabbert this year's Brady Quinn? Does Atlanta believe in Julio that much that they were willing to sell the farm for him?

Sounds like he's booed everytime he comes to the podium.

Christian Ponder to the Viqueens? Really? I guess with free-agency being questionable they figured they'd better pick up something usable in the draft. And now with Nick Fairley to the Lions, their D-line will be absolutely frightening for years to come.

Man... what was A.J. Smith thinking? who the heck did the chargers just pick?? never even heard of the guy... we had cameron jordan available and smith picks... Luiget?? who??

I can't believe the Lions got Farley. Some people had him going 2 or 3. He was probably the most dominant D lineman in college ball last year. It allows them to move Suh outside for pass rush. I pity the Tackles that are going to try to block that. The Lions now have the best D Line in the NFL. Now they've got to go out and get a corner. But he isn't going to have to be great, not to many QB's are going to have time to throw against this team.

Hmm. I was really hoping to see Mark Ingrahm in the Black & Gold, but we do need some help on the D-line. I think Cameron was a good pick, but I still think someone is going to get a STEAL with Ingrahm falling this far.

Patriots pick up Nate Solder with #17 pick. The O-Line will have a couple of huge bookends at the tackle position, with Solder being 6'9" and Sebastian Vollmer coming in at 6'8". Brady should be a happy camper when the season starts. But the Pats still need a pass rusher!

DT Cameron Heyward (Ohio State) to the Steelers. I figured we'd go for the cornerback out of Texas, but besides Ziggy Hood, our defensive line is getting up there in age. We have major needs at Cornerback, OL, and DL. Hopefully, we'll get some quality picks in the upcoming rounds.

I've heard this kid being interviewed several times prior to the draft, and he is a very impressive young man. Very humble and very well-spoken. Son of the late Craig "Ironhead" Heyward. From what I've heard, he was an animal on the field for Ohio State, and was the team captain. Character will not be a problem with him.

And Mike, I too was hoping that Mike Pouncey would drop down so that we could take him, but I didn't really think that would happen...

Despite my dislike for Ohio State, I like the Heyward pick. He should fit in perfectly with the Steelers 3-4. Being Craig's son is also cool as I liked him as a player.

I didn't want Williams from Texas. He seems more like a safety or nickel DB. He is no better than the group of guys we had there last season. The Steelers FO will find us a good CB Friday or Saturday.

Packers counter that with Sherrod, a 4-time SEC player of the week last year....as an O-lineman!! Solid pick with Clifton retiring probably in a year or if he's injured. We are now set with another top steel curtain to protect Rodgers behind.
