Love Luongo. If I lived in Canada I'd be pretty excited to see that TSN is bringing him on their shows as an analyst for the playoffs.

2013-14 NHL Regular Season Thread: Second Period

Not really. He started the season on a tear, and kept up a pretty high pace with his power play goals. He seems he's transformed into basically a one trick pony now. Very dangerous scorer, but not the type of player you can build your franchise on. I remember a few years ago how all the media hype was always Crosby vs Ovi, who is the best player in the world. I don't think he's even in the discussion for Top 5 now. Sid, Malkin, Toews, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Bergeron... all players I'd rather have on my team than him. I'm sure I could name more, I don't even watch the west!
Don't forget Patty Kane. One of the best stick handlers in the nhl if not the best. Yeah Datsyuk can dangle people out of their jockstraps but Kane is more consistent and just awesome.
Tired of the 87 vs. 8 discussion. That was one reason I hated tsn. They always somehow manage to bring those two into any discussion even if it doesn't involve Washington or Pittsburgh. Why don't they kiss their @$$es more. Sick of it. I think they toned it down recently but it's still there.
I must have the opposite problem. Since moving back to Washington State, I don't keep up with the eastern conference all that much outside the Pens.

I don't think there's even a question about who the best player in the world is. It's Crosby. But, who cares? I'm so tired of hearing about this during all these hockey analysis shows. Hockey is a team sport. Talk about the team that is playing the best.
Not sure how (or why) TSN would squeeze that in considering neither has anything to do with the Leafs.
You'd be surprised. They somehow manage to make him relevant to a topic that's irrelevant to him or the Penguins.
If they're acting like they give two ***s about anything other than their beloved Maple Leafs, I would be surprised indeed.
And we are off!! The quest has begun. Fluery better step up this year, the pieces are there for the Pens to go deep into the playoffs this year.
I turned the Pens game on right after it got tied up 3-3. Good performance from the lesser known Pens. Fleury stepped up with Columbus bearing down on him late and the defense did too.
On to the Ducks game. This is the series I'm really interested in.

Yes, Sunday's game was good, Rask was great and the one goal he gave up was a reflection, sort of soft I guess.
