2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

Mason out again for the Flyers. Come on now Emery.

A good game is developing in St. Louis.

Pens are due up in a couple hours. I'm not sure which Pens show up tonight. They win game one, so this could be a game they decide to take it easy.

Yep, the Pens team I'm afraid of showed up tonight. It looked to me like they were just waiting for Columbus to find a way to win in both OT's. The Pens have more skilled players, which got them the lead, but winning in the playoffs is about more than the most gifted players. Such is life for a Pens fan in recent playoff years.

Fleury didn't play terribly, but he was out of position a few times. I don't think he trusts the defense, especially with Letang on the ice. I thought he did fine with what he had.

Shame to see what happened to Backes.

I feel asleep before the third period, but I'm not at all surprised to see that Columbus came back to win that game. From what I saw, the problem wasn't Fleury. How many shorthanded scoring chances did Pittsburgh give up to Columbus?

Up 3-1 and Pens get a PP. Columbus already scored a shorty in the first game. So Bylsma puts out 2 D men on the power play, since we have at least 3 that can put the puck on the net and make good decisions at the point, right? Nope, four forwards. So when a mistake is made, Niskanen is the only one back to try to stop a 2 on 1. What a joke. So tired of Bylsma.

Fleury has been pretty damn good so far, all things considered. It would be 2-0 Columbus if it wasn't for him.

PIT/CBJ line up for game three tonight. The fans in Columbus are going to be crazy loud and excited. No worries though, the Pens have called up the missing piece to the SC puzzle, Chris Conner. :D

What happened to the defense and goaltending in LA? Yikes.

Yeah, he said Letang got the message. Then in Game 2 he took a horrible penalty again.

Letang has been on the ice or in the penalty box for 5/7 Columbus goals. He also has terrible corsi stats, despite getting a majority of starts in the offensive zone. Next year he'll make $7.25 million. Hooray.

Well, the Pens sure showed me tonight. I bailed on the game and went for a walk when it was 2-0 Columbus. I get a text later in the evening from a buddy telling the Pens came back to win. I'll have to catch some highlights and see just how they managed to pull that off after being down 3-1 in the third.
