2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

What a kick in the nuts last night was. Ughh. Dan deservedly starred down the crowd. They deserved that dagger. He held it together and just made the Flyers pay. Getting into their ( the Flyers ) heads was the obvious goal when Dan was put into the line up in Philly and it worked flawlessly. Hats off... hope Philly can get back into this.

OK, I'm back from vacation, what did I miss?

Saw the games last night. Flyers collapse badly.

Lots of empty seats at the Joe, wife and I thought about dropping by there on the way home from PA and I remarked there would probably be a bunch of empty seats there since there was a Tigers game in town. Early season baseball game versus playoff hockey, which do you think will win out? Hockeytown? This ain't no Hockeytown! Detroit must turn in its rights to the term Hockeytown!

I hope you're sitting down, Mike.....but word 'round the campfire is that Selanne is a healthy scratch tonight.

...if your support crew isn't around I'll be more than happy to send you an email hug. The door to Darth's office is always open for a warm embrace.

Such is the life of a Pens fan.

Fleury played so well much of the game, then pulls that stunt with 25 seconds left.

Hope the Fleury hate train doesn't start up already. Pens got severely out shot, not a single registered SOG for Malkin, taking penalties to put them in a 5v3 situation, 4 minute penalties, and a severe lack of urgency during the third. Yes, Fleury made an incredibly stupid mistake that sent the game to OT, then gave up a horrible GWG, but he's been the Pens' MVP so far in these playoffs.

I agree. I was talking to a buddy last night towards the end of the game and told him I have Fleury as my #1 star of the game if the Pens hold on and win. I didn't watch or read much postgame coverage, but I did see the NHLN guys talking about it. They came down on Fleury for the mistake, but also acknowledged he is keeping them in the series.

Two awful, AWFUL goals. Fleury is toast once again in the playoffs. What goalie goes to play the puck behind his net when all skaters are in his zone? That play was in his head when the puck zoomed past his glove from not too far inside the blueline.

Add to that the 3-0 lead that Bylsma still couldn't coach his way through... Penguins left off the gas badly and never got back on. If the Pens lose this series, Bylsma shouldn't last 2 seconds past the final horn.

Now, on to wait until Friday to see if Mason's will be playing with a concussion or not which of course the Flyers obviously won't say.
