2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

I'll admit to rooting for the Rangers because Montreal booted my team out of the playoffs but it still feels good to see Montreal head home. Perhaps the hockey gods were angered by the embellishment in games 4 and 5. Montreal played a more honest game 6 but was totally gassed in the 3rd - I do have to give the Habs credit for skating hard to the end. Lundquist was back to his usual self - the blocker save when he dropped his stick to make sure he got hit arm up in time was incredible. Both Montreal and New York are teams on the upswing which should make the Eastern Conference much more interesting next year.

Francophone or not, the hockey gods can't protect those SOBs forever.

Gahhh I really really hope the Kings don't blow this. Finish the Hawks off the sooner, the more rest they'll get against a motivated and hardened Rangers team..

It's gonna take all four forward lines and all three defensive lines to get past King Henrik.

The Rangers will get out worked by the Kings when they make it. They will have to be underdogs I imagine.

The Rangers are probably underdogs to either the Kings or Blackhawks. I'll still root for them, partly because they will be the underdog but also Boyle and Krieder are Boston guys. If Lundquist brings his Game 6 performance to the Finals, anything is possible.

LA is done. They looked unbeatable for a stretch there, but not anymore.

I'm taking the Rangers for the SC no matter who wins game seven on Sunday. Chicago/LA needs to score 4-5 goals a game to win, and they aren't going to get that many on Lundqvist.

Keep playing LA and Chicago, really wear yourselves out!!!!!!!!!!

This is a non-issue. Game 7 is on Sunday and the Stanley Cup final starts on Wednesday and this is plenty of time to rest. In fact, there is an equally strong school of thought that says NY will be at a disadvantage because they've been sitting idle for so long and this results in loss of momentum.

Don't bet on either prediction. Both teams will be ready to play.
