2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

Honestly, at that price, and if you want to stay in the Ampeg family, a used 810 is your best bet. It gets a lot of speakers moving and some closer to your ears vs your knees. 2nd may be the svt212av, but that breaks the budget, likely even used.
For me, especially for outdoor gigs, with the V4B, only the 810 could hang. 100w tube without a ton of speakers behind it ran out of gas. And, the sound is heavenly.

Love your picture! The V4B with an 8x10 is awesome. It's too big for me to haul at my age, but some clubs we play have one in the back line and I'll use my head with it. For big/outdoor shows I have 2 x SVT212av that do the trick (and I can move).
The V4B on top of two 212AVs is one of my all time favorite rigs.
That sounds awesome but is also $1600 130 lbs worth of speaker! 
If sticking with Ampeg cabs, I'd go for the SVT212AV and plan to(eventually) get 2
The 66 would be interesting. I tried KT88 on a 70’s V4b but changed them out quickly.
To what end? You won’t get more power out with the same output transformer and it’s questionable whether the power transformer could handle the increased heater voltage. On the vintage amps running 6550, EL34, etc, causes the PT to run excessively hot. I’ve owned three vintage V4s including one with a 6550 conversion, the sound was pretty close between them, likely more down to preamp tube differences and component level drift/variance as much as anything. But the 6550 amp ran significantly hotter, you ideally wanted to run it with a fan. Who knows what the modern reissue PT can handle.
I wanted to ask the question again if anyone here has experience with the SVT-15 E/EN cab and SVT-210AV cabs specifically with the V4B. What are the sonic differences between the two cabs? Do you think they would pair well together?
No experience with the 2x10 but I use mine with the SVT 1x15 at the house and it is an awesome match up. I would say it is in the ballpark of the classic fliptop vibe.
15e is deeper in lows and less bright. Which is fine, but I favor the rolled off and slightly brighter tones of the 810e and I get on extremely well with the 210av no matter what amp I use.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. How about this crazy idea.....: I'm thinking of adding 2 more SVT-210AV so that I can make up to a modular 8x10 system depending on the size of the gig. Additionally I was thinking of adding a small class D amplifier to "multi-amp" the speaker array using the line out on the V4B into the power amp. The idea is that I could blend in the clean power from the class D amp for clean lows and additional power to driver the speakers to whatever level is required while also retaining some tube flavor and drive from the v4b. Does anyone see any issues with this in regard to impedances and driving the same speakers in parallel from two different amps? Any power amp only recommendations with a line input "thru" so I could still output to the board for PA support? It's a lot and pretty wild, I know

I know a couple folks on here who used to do that, although most just used the same amp. Only thing I would caution about is that the 210av speakers are medium duty so don't be blasting insano with the micro amp.Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Absolutely. With V4b, the 4 cabs would only be seeing 25W input power for 200W cabs. I don't think they would sound their best or very loud driven with that low of power, not too mention the V4b starting to distort and the lows farting out. I think a 800W class D amp with volume control would be ideal; does anyone know any reasonably priced 2 ohm capable class D amps?
