2014-2015 NHL Regular Season Thread

We had plans to go out for dinner tonight to celebrate my wife's birthday. Cooler heads prevailed and we'll be getting together at her son's place to watch the Canucks/Flames opener (and celebrate her birthday). I'm looking forward to seeing how the Flame's next phase of development post Iginla turns out. They have gone with youth, a lot of eager guys looking to impress. It should be an entertaining season as the last one was, though I suspect that they're still a year away from making the playoffs.

The Avalanche want an outdoor game next season, marking their 20th in the NHL. That would be cool. Who do you think would be a good team for them to play in that game?

Habs are looking good. Best team they have had in many years. PK is a true superstar and he will get a ring. Now, as long as nobody in the rest of the free world realises that Cary Price has a useless glove, we should be good.

I think the Av's and Wild is going to become a big rivalry. That would be a great pick. And yes, Wild fan here. Can't wait for the puck drop tonight.

Red Wings. Just for old times' sake.

Hmmm I guess.

Bring on the goals in Pittsburgh. Nice win to start the season for the Pens. Anaheim looks good too. Two of my favorite teams squared off, so I was going to be happy no matter who won.

Especially after the flag raising ceremony with the very team they came from behind 0-3 on the way to the cup present! Oiler/Flame rivalry renewed tonight. They looked good against the Canucks last night considering how many new young guys are on the team.

There are people slowly getting off the bandwagon after that home opener loss, but it's 1/82 games done. MY goodness, people, show some loyalty. LA will resume its usual domination. Just need to let the opposition into a false sense of security. ;)

I do feel bad for Colorado being shutout by Minnesota; guess they know how LA feels now ATM.

Boston's schedule is pretty rought for October. I believe they had two back to back games in the first two weeks of the season and little time for rest. They looked aight against Detroit, but I think the game against PHI tired the Bs out a bit.
