2014-2015 NHL Regular Season Thread

There are people slowly getting off the bandwagon after that home opener loss, but it's 1/82 games done. MY goodness, people, show some loyalty. LA will resume its usual domination. Just need to let the opposition into a false sense of security. ;)

Agreed. It seems even some long term LA fans have already forgotten about the beating Chicago gave the Kings the last time they raised a banner. The Kings didn't fare too bad that season either, what with making their second straight trip to the Conference Final and all. GKG

I havn't seen the Pens play yet...how is the D looking? Is Letang on the second unit and Erhoff on the first?

I was more impressed with Pascal Dupuis last night. He looked really good. I'm trying hard not to be overly excited about one game, but if this is a sneak peak at his season, it's going to be great. Lost in all the Pens drama last season was the fact that Dupuis was out of the lineup the second half of last season. I think that was huge for team chemistry.

Malkin/Dupuis/Sutter.....I like that second line.

The third line had a solid game last night. The defense wasn't great or terrible.

Smallest crowd in attendance in Panthers history tonight against Ottawa. Wow, the mere sight of those stands being empty was hilarious/pitiful....

Stammy got a hatty against the Habs. What a way to take some revenge for that sweep.

And Briere's buzzer beater against Boston. Holy frigging smokes that was amazing.

They get to abuse the Flyers next so that should assuage any ill feeling by their fans. Rough start to the season yet again for the Flyers, however they seem to be in the games. They've played smart ( not many penalties to hurt themselves ) they just need to get it figured out. Seems like a bit too much shuffling of the starting line for folks to gel so far. Injuries suck. :/

Not a good start for the Bruins. They are getting good goaltending but not much scoring. Trading Boychuk for salary cap relief right before the season started hurts the team this year but the 2 second round picks were a pretty big return. Krecji missed the first 3 games, but he is back and that should help the first line get its act together.

Tough loss yesterday afternoon on a scramble goal by the Avs with .5 seconds left in the game.

Sean Couturier of Philly played a strong 2-way game against the B's in the opener - I would not be surprised if this season will be his breakout year and he scores 20-25.

Tonight the B's are back in Detroit for their second game of the year against the Wings. Then they have Montreal for the C's home opener tomorrow night. The B's are still trying to get their lines straight and Montreal always plays well against them. I hope I'm wrong but the B's will be lucky to get a point out of either of these games.
