I thought of the similarly too. Pricing looks competitive though. A G&L L-2000 lists for $1,500. It certainly an improvement over past recent offerings from Gibson. Might be worth a look.
Looks like every other double cutaway that's not a Gibson.

Ya. The previous EB looked cool in a quirky way. This thing looks thoroughly generic.I find that completely uninspiring.
