There was nothing at all wrong with their previous EB solid body design, had at least a slight taste of originality, so of course, they had to change it to something less interesting.

I thought of the similarly too. Pricing looks competitive though. A G&L L-2000 lists for $1,500. It certainly an improvement over past recent offerings from Gibson. Might be worth a look.

Gibson seems to have completely lost its way over the last several years. Wouldn't be surprised to see them out of business (or more likely bought and run into the ground) in another 5.

Sad.

I'm a huge fan of the 2013 and 2014 EB. Love every facet, including the retro-cool look.

This new EB bass inspires me to keep buying 2013 or 2014 EB basses.

I really liked the previous EB and still may pick one up down the road, but this does nothing for me.

This reminds me of the 80's Gibson bass offerings. Like the Victory or whatever that thing was called.
