2021 Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Bass

I like this bass guitar, which looks very unusual and modern. According to the components and technical characteristics, everything is also good. Up to this point, I was thinking about SIRE P7, but I fell in love with this one after I saw it.

Hello fellow bassplayers and bassplayerettes,

after I did a cover song with the brand new Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas JJ V bass a few days ago, today I will give you a review of this most anticipated bass.

I will go through all EQ Setting with different styles and show you, why you should be really excited for this bass... ...and why some might be disappointed... I hope you like it!

Stay well and creative!

Seems like the weight is good, how does it balance on a strap?

What a cool guitar, looks rich and modern, sounds great. Congratulations on your purchase. I myself think about the four-string version, choosing between two colors.

Did you like the five-string guitar so much that you decided to order a four-string guitar? :)
Have you ever owned / played Fender guitars? how does Charvel compare to them?
No...I ordered them both the same time :)
Because I knew, I would like them.

Yes, I own some Fender basses. How they are...it depends on the year. If you get a real vintage bass from decades ago...it could be pure gold. But the newly made american Fenders barely do the minimum to be not entirely bad compared. The pickups are mediocre, things like roasted maple are custom shop only, the PreAmps are average. And often the setup isn't that professional either.
There are some notable exceptions to this, which are really good basses, but on average brands like G&L, Charvel or even Sire steal the Thunder of Fender. Nowaday Fender are midclass basses for a high price.

Compared to the Charvel. The Charvel has the better bridge, the much better pickups, the better electronics and a better neck. Thus my expression "Fender on Steroids".

Thank you very much for your feedback and detailed description. Most likely in the near future I will make a pre-order of Charvel, it remains only to decide on its color. :)

The Charvel Pro-Mod was definitely designed for the modern player while retaining characteristics of Fender, though specs and hardware aside their construction isn’t any better than Mexican-made Fenders. They’re probably built by the same hands that handle said MIM Fenders.
