297,840 seconds ago...

297840 seconds ago was three and a half days ago. Perhaps you were mistaken, unless for you it’s still 1987, in which case there’s some stuff you should know.
I was mistaken, and in googling a number plus my own haste and excitement I end up having to answer the entire community for my embarrassment. To my surprise and delight, I found this receipt this morning.

I think there are some seriously math deficient bassists here in this thread:

How many seconds are there in a year of 365 days?
31,536,000 seconds

You have to do 60 X 60 to get one hour (3600 seconds) Then, you have to get 3600 seconds and multiply it by 24 since there are 24 hours in a day (84600 seconds) Then since there are 365 days in a year you have to do 84600 X 365 and you will get 31,536,000 seconds.

How Many Seconds Are In a Year?
I found this receipt this morning. Hastily I googled how many seconds... I didn't look to see that it had given me a number in hours... Anyway. I started playing bass 34 years ago TODAY.

;)Here ya go... this should settle it. But keep in mind everybody will come to a different answer depending on when this post is read.

I indeed meant hours... To my surprise and delight, I found this receipt this morning... Hastily I though why not share this news with all my fellow bassists at talkbass only to... well you get the drift. I can take the razzing...

In all those calculations, did anyone account for leap years? Just asking because I am too lazy to run the numbers.
I wish I had a better excuse other than excitement of finding that receipt this morning, leaving me to make a sizeable counting error in the land of counting nerds. Why hast thou forsaken me google... Why?

I always say learning music is great for young people to develop math skills....I could be wrong though
My math skills are great. My google skills, not so much. I can't even blame google. Haste was my downfall. I found that receipt this morning. Was eager to share. And now it's a roast. Horseradish?

Five hundred twenty-nine thousand six hundred minutes in a year.
Haste. If one took as much care in the end, as one did in the beginning, there would be no errors. Found an original receipt, googled a number... didn't watch to see which one I took... Ahh well. Funny how getting it wrong is probably going to get a more active response than if I had gotten it right.
