1 PB shorty
1 MB-4 sbk deluxe series
One for me (short scale)
One for a buddy(after I mod it up a bit).
Neither will stay stock for long

Get one... but if you do, you might as well order a few things from them, my shipping cost went down a couple bucks by adding the 2nd bass and a couple Behringer DI boxes.

For sure. If I bought one I'd be getting a couple of sets of TI flats. They're $44 from Germany and $75 here.

It set up fine and plays well too!
The pickup isn’t as punchy as I expected... its also wired with a pot for each coil. I’ll be adding another pickup towards the neck and totally re wiring it anyway.
The tuners feel cheap, but if they stay in tune, who cares!!
(Me but that will be later)

This MB-4 is way more comfortable than the enhanced MJ-4 that i had for a hot second.
Lighter and smoother body lines.

Yup! The mm is in a better spot for that combo on the mb4. The P will be a bit closer to the neck than a Pbass. The enhanced mj has the mm too close to the bridge for my taste.

the more i look at the stock PG, the more i really don’t like it.
The tort aint bad but combined with the white/black/white ply....

Yeah, benton tuners are cheap. So are the pickups. But the necks are solid, and they don't need much to play well. Solid budget gear. I'd throw a Big Splitman in it, route it for a single in the neck (Big J Blade)
