Yeah, benton tuners are cheap. So are the pickups. But the necks are solid, and they don't need much to play well. Solid budget gear. I'd throw a Big Splitman in it, route it for a single in the neck (Big J Blade)

That's actually a hair thicker than standard Fender neck heel spec! Most short scales have a narrower neck heel.

I don’t have my Glarry at home to compare it at the moment.
Compared to all my other basses, its wider at the heel.
The thickness from fretboard to the back of the neck is definitely not as chunky as a glarry.

I was just looking at these again this morning.

@Deleted member 365158 - you mentioned the neck being nice. Does it feel like a normal satin neck? I am not a fan of painted necks and the only reason I do not own one of these (or the similarly styled P or Tbird) is that I fear the neck being sticky.

To me, its super smooth. I don’t have a lot of experience around painted necks but the few I played that were glossy felt “sticky” to me especially with a bit of sweat on my hands.
This satin neck doesn’t feel like that at all but i only just got it and played it for a few hours yesterday.

I play a 2006 MIM Fender shorty P (29.5") and it's so fun. I put a Nordy NP4 in mine and it is all P bass.

This is a very interesting fact, I'm wondering if I can use one of these necks and little sandpaper to convert a beloved Fender P body I own into a short scale. Would probably need to move the bridge forward a little, but considering the neck is only 19 frets and the old one is 20 frets, it wouldn't be by much...

Exactly! Yes you would need to move the bridge closer toward the neck. Also, the depth of both the neck butt and neck pocket would come into play.

yes, if the neck pocket is shallow on the HB then I might need to add a shim to the Fender neck pocket. If the neck pocket is deep on the HB then I'm not worried, a Babicz bridge should be able to raise the strings enough to compensate on the Fender body.

Dubious, is there any chance you could measure the rest of that BH neck for us? the depth at the neck pocket and length from the nut to the heel would be helpful. Thanks and enjoy your new basses!

Depth of the neck at the pocket= 26.21mm(1 1/32”)
Depth of pocket~16mm(5/8”)
Nut to heel length = 520.7mm (20 1/2”)
